Trump will be "leaving office" when JD Vance exercises the 25th amendment in January. Very little is going to change when Trump leaves office. We'll get significantly fewer incomprehensible rants, but that's the only major change we're going to get.
Why Jan?
New Congress is seated on January 3rd. Vance won't have Congressional support before then. He needs a majority in the cabinet and 2/3 majority in the legislature to complete a 25th amendment coup.
If the VP completes less than half of the president's term, they remain eligible for two full terms of their own. January 20th 2027 marks the half way point of Trump's term.
