The headline specifically said she blasted their heads. Didn’t say what with, though. I’m imagining a firehose.

Damm don't read the article you'll be disappointed she isn't blasting them with a shotgun.
She just said it like it is and actually specifically called out US oil companies operating here. Not an accurate headline.
As long as she's harshly critical, it's a perfectly valid use of "blasts." It's just not the particular dictionary definition many of us would have preferred, apparently. Convenient sentence phrasing like "blasts the heads" does make me think the writer is wanting to create a certain image though. 😄
Gee, I wonder why private companies are reluctant to build pipelines. Any reasons come to mind?
