This post has been reported as AI Slop

This is one of the rare cases we allow it, as it is a direct response to an actual political event, in the exact same manner.

[–] moonshadow@slrpnk.net 6 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

I think this is a mistake, half the discussion here is just calling it out. "They slopped first" is no justification, it's still a wildly resource intensive attempt to replace human output

e: also the one where he's healing Epstein is way funnier :p

God these Ai memes need to stop. Much happier with poorly photoshopped memes thank you very much

[–] homes@piefed.world 10 points 1 week ago

At least we knew that those required some effort…

[–] green_goglin@thelemmy.club 8 points 1 week ago

when in Rome

[–] FauxPseudo@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago (2 children)

The issue here is that the thing this is a response to is AI. Try to create a different version and the trumpsters won't get it

[–] OpenHammer6677@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Sorry but "Annoying trumpsters" is still not a valid use of Ai imho. You can pretty much annoy them with anything, so there's really no need to waste resources or encourage Ai use for this

[–] FauxPseudo@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

It's not just annoying Trumpsters. This is a rephrasing of something they supported which was AI generated. Could I paint this manually? Probably. It would take me a week. Probably but by then we're going to be worrying about nuclear hamsters or something.

This is a variation of the thing they're supporting which was generated by ai and shared by the president. Any variation in artistic style is going to ruin the illusion and the message.

[–] hoch@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

What's your plan? Are you just going to whine like this for the foreseeable future?

A good joke could fly over their heads if you buried it. Making sure the trumpets get you is a lost cause.

[–] MurphysPaw@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 week ago

It's one of the few things it's actually good for imo

[–] TheOctonaut@piefed.zip -5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

What a surprising and original and nuanced opinion! I'm sure glad to see one of these comments on every image post, AI or not.

Can you people just use the down-vote button like you're supposed to and move on?

[–] moonshadow@slrpnk.net 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Let me get this straight... you're actually asking for less human input and more slop? Isn't posting about shit/reading people's takes kinda the whole game here?

[–] TheOctonaut@piefed.zip -2 points 1 week ago

No just less human input where the human input is low-effort upvote farming asking for something that is completely irrelevant to the original post. We get it. AI bad.

[–] Vreyan31@reddthat.com 18 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I think this just annoys everyone.

Obama possibly among most of all.

[–] takeda@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 week ago

Yeah, this is blasphemous for Christians. Since Obama is a Christian I can't see him appreciate being portrayed as God.

[–] drcabbage@lemmy.ml 9 points 1 week ago

Oh neat! Its Obama as a doctor.

[–] chetradley@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago
[–] sharkfucker420@lemmy.ml 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You can find great ways to annoy them without ai

[–] FauxPseudo@lemmy.world 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

But fighting AI with not AI is not going to be as successful for the target audience.

[–] wholookshere@piefed.blahaj.zone 7 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Do you actually think your convincing anyone with a meme, AI or not?

[–] nymnympseudonym@piefed.social 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

So that means they must be right?

[–] FauxPseudo@lemmy.world -1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It's not necessary to convince them. It's enough to shake them. Trump posted his vision of himself as Jesus. Sub out the main character and some people will realize the thing they are defending is extremely problematic. The character substitution is their enemy.

[–] wholookshere@piefed.blahaj.zone 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

S again, you think it was just the picture, not just who made it.

[–] FauxPseudo@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

When was the last time you saw a successful parody that did not mimic the style of the original thing being parodied? When you create a meme do you hand cut your letters like back in the '60s or do you use a computer a typeset library? How would you go about the process of making it in the same style as the thing that it is a parody of without using AI and would that be more or less resource intensive? Do you know how many gallons of water it takes to make and clean some paint brushes? What the carbon footprint of seven tubes of paint is?

[–] wholookshere@piefed.blahaj.zone 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Your now making the claim those are similar, so post your figures.

Because you really believe the carbon footprint of a tube of paint and its shipping is comparable to a gas turbine generator running 24/7, and the Google data centre using 2 million gallons per day.

Okay buddy.

Edit:

When was the last time tubes of paint Made someone's home electrical rates rise

[–] FauxPseudo@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

But you know that it did not take 2 million gallons to make this. So the daily total is irrelevant.

[–] wholookshere@piefed.blahaj.zone 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

And you know the amount of carbon emitted from making a tube of paint is trivial in comparison.

If you disagree show your work.

Also the electricity rates question is still there.

[–] FauxPseudo@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Seven tubes of paint shipped across the world.

[–] Danarchy@lemmy.nz 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

If Obama could do this… but alas I fear the light of god left turmp when he raped all those kids

[–] FauxPseudo@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

It was gone long before that

To shreads you say?

[–] marcos@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Trying to own the conservatives by out-stupiding them?

[–] FauxPseudo@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

By pointing out that they can easily see the problem when it's a person they hate in the role of a religious icon.

[–] 14th_cylon@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

these people don't go to lemmy for memes and they have no problems with hypocrisy, if they did, their heads would explode long time ago...

[–] FauxPseudo@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

People go through Lemmy for memes that they can share other places.

[–] altphoto@lemmy.today 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Do that's how he was made stupid by Obama!

[–] itsgroundhogdayagain@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 week ago

Dr. Obama healing him with wokeness

[–] Janx@piefed.social 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah, but. As a general rule Democrats and independents don't deify their representatives. Obama was about 1,000,000x better than Trump, but I don't worship him. I don't wear his merch and put up giant signs covering my home and business proclaiming my loyalty to him, make him my entire personality and argue against the bad things he did. Remember, even the president is supposed to serve the People...

[–] FauxPseudo@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

I remember when AM radio hosts were bothered by how much Obama was making off merchandising those posters and how unbecoming it was for someone trying to be president.

Weird how those same people said nothing when Trump started merchandizing everything from hats to wear when welcoming back dead soldiers, gold shoes, Bibles, NFT cards and a ballroom.
