Hair loss is common during rapid weight loss, even without pharmaceutical interventions.

I lost half my hair and I'm not even kidding. Wear a wig half the time now :( still worth it to be a healthy weight and I also take it for diabetes. My weight has been stable for over 2 years so maybe I should get off it now and try something else for diabetes. Ironically, I've had the fewest side effects with mounjaro.

sorry to hear. since youre already at a healthy weight why dont you get off of it and eat at a proper maintenance, im a recovered anorexic and in the past lost a lot of hair and it all grew back when i started eating (this was because it was not androgenic alopecia but nutrient deprived hair loss). remember the hair is an organ like all the others and needs nutrients

She added that people experiencing active hair loss may benefit from over‑the‑counter topical minoxidil to support regrowth.

Warning: minoxidil is very toxic to pets. Even residue can be fatal. If you have pets and have a use for minoxidil, consider pills instead of topical.

Oh god, I am almost certain I’ve had some dried residue on my hair and scalp when friends with pets have come over! The dogs are always so friendly and full of licks and smooches that I’m genuinely shocked I never thought of the residue itself, never realized it’s actually fatal! How long does the minoxidil itself last, or whatever the active compound is, that is dangerous, vs. the alcohol and others in the topical that might leave residue? No dogs or cats have died so far or been sick after visiting, but for future, I will eventually run out of luck, so better see if you’d know more, and if I have to always shower and shampoo the full scalp before any pets come by from now on 😟
