I started buying green coffee and roasting it myself. Went from buying around $38 per 2 lbs to around $17-18 per 2 lbs. Bonus, I’m getting better coffee out of it.

Wait, it's expensive here but $42 for a 2lb bag, whole beans roasted, of the good local one. Steadily rose from $35 over the last couple of years. But not near $76.

Ack, typo. Sorry. That was amounts per 2 lbs, was buying bulk rate from Fresh Roasted Coffee online previously.

Now I buy green coffee beans from Burman coffee, ranging from $6.50 to around $9 per 1 lb and roast it myself as needed.

I fixed the amounts in the original comment.

Well, 14 years before 2025 (i.e. 2011) was when the economy was recovering from the financial crisis, wasn't it? So there's a kernel of truth to that belief.

I want credit where credit is due. Does anyone have the quote?

Or is that just the setup to his joke?

The global economy? Prices are what they were a year ago here in China. Next week I'll report if they went up in Vietnam.

I believe what they are referring to is that Trump fucked Americans by implementing tariffs, which affects the “global economy” from the perspective of Americans, since we’re the ones who end up paying the additional costs for things we import.

So the global economy is kinda like the World Series?

You know us Americans, and how we like to think we’re the center of the universe. 🤷‍♂️

Am American, can confirm we are culturally the center of the universe, was accused of not actually being American in Kazakhstan for not being familiar with some popular song from like 2023 or something.

That one change in particular fucked-up some people here in Brazil. I remember shoe manufacturers and honey producers complaining they had a bad time.

It just wasn't enough to appear on the economical indicators, that improved instead.
