"We did it, Patrick! We made a technological breakthrough!"

A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.

AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.

To protect and server

Do they not realize what they're doing? Don't they see how unpatriotic this is?

Easy to see where this is going. The government has used agents provacateur in the past. All they have to do is get somebody undercover to start talking violent and then step in and sweep up all the activists to "investigate" the "threat".

This has a chilling effect and puts the anti-AI movement on ice. The cases drag on through the courts and a huge scandal erupts once people eventually see what has happened. In the meantime, though, all of those data centers get built with only token opposition, because most people are too afraid to speak up.

You can't be violent against a warehouse. Property destruction is not violence.
