Incident comes as six states pledge to send at least 1,200 troops to Washington DC despite falling crime rate

A military vehicle crashed into a car in Washington DC on Wednesday morning, an incident that comes as six Republican-led states have all pledged to send more national guard troops to DC.

The city’s local CBS station first reported on the accident, which happened in Washington’s Capitol Hill neighborhood, and cited confirmation from the DC fire and emergency services. On social media, the department said that one person was extricated and transported with “minor injuries”.

Hello 2a people of the US of fucking A

Do you remember about you continuously yelling and whining about "from my cold, dead hands" and how you needed your guns to fight tyranny?

Question: when was the last time US soldiers were deployed on US soil to arrest US citizens? Would that or would that not be tyranny?

As in: WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU?

As in: WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU?

They're the ones that are supporting tyranny. The 2A shit was always a grift.

They are the ones arresting people for being brown. They are the cowards with the masks. They are the fascists.

Well of course, haven't you seen the drivers training video?

Is this the Blues Brothers?

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

Yes, but the newer one. I wanted to find the older scene because I think its better but was in a hurry.

Oh this is from the 2000 remake of Blues Bro's

[–] GraniteM@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Holy shit, I'd always heard that Blues Brothers 2000 was terrible, but that was an impressive amount of mayhem.

It's just bad enough to watch. Watch them in order so that you can fully appreciate the jarring jump in theme/tone.

I'm still not sure why they decided to Cop 1/2 the Blues Brothers, but it's just good enough to watch all the way through and absolutely bad enough to genuinely enjoy for all the wrong reasons.

I think it was? I might have watched in on an airplane but if I did it was very forgettable.

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 3 points 3 days ago

And here I was thinking this is a Tesla self driving demo...

This comment has been repeated by my brain-voice many times and then I either chuckle to myself or actually laugh out loud a little. I don't know why it's so amusing, but it is.
