Are you part of a revolutionary militia? If not, you better get your ass to the ballot box at the very least. Posting memes on your favorite social media app isn't going to change shit

They genuinely believe they could make change by "putting the right person in change". I can't help but feel sorry for them :<
How is it possible that things can get worse if the wrong person is in charge, but that one would argue that things can't get better with the right person in charge? Either the person in charge has an effect on our collective situation or they don't.
It is a bit more complicated than that. Policy decisions depend heavily on factors we cannot influence. This video explains it better than I could.
Voting is the first, and only the first, step in a revolution, armed or otherwise.
But sure, for it to be useful, there have to be good candidates. Who's the pro-green, pro-Palestine, pro-healthcare, pro-fair use, pro-unions, con-AI, con-pharma, con-cars, con-shareholders candidate again?
There has to be a government worth participating in.

Meh. I prefer something non-hierarchical… No I don’t have designs of that solution but if you need ‘someone in charge’ to force people into a system, I’m out. Ideally. Where my idealists at?!!
