While the intake report memorialized allegations that multiple girls were murdered and buried at a Trump golf course, newly released Epstein records suggest federal investigators ultimately viewed the source skeptically. Other FBI summaries released by the Justice Department indicate complainants making similar allegations were “deemed not credible,” and no publicly released records show that authorities excavated any Trump golf course or uncovered evidence supporting the claims.

Guess the rich only ever saw consequences once: France in 1792

What would America's Storming the Bastille moment even look like? Storming the child-rape mansion that is Mar-a-Lago? Who's head would get carried away on a pike? Miller's? Theil's? Musk's?

How come it's always the people you least expect it of?

claims that appear to have originated from a single tipster who contacted federal authorities in 2021.

Well, that's easy for him to dismiss. That was under Biden's FBI. This won't hurt him. Ignore it, it's not gonna help us take this fucker down.

Terribly misleading, intentionally and maliciously so. From the article:

from a single tipster who contacted federal authorities in 2021.

So while the “stop trump at all costs” plan was in motion, a single person contacted the fbi and simply made an allegation.

It’s nothing.

The storming of the Bastille was a farce. The mob killed 94 people on the way in, murdered the governor and pensioners and guards after they had surrendered, and discovered that there were only 7 inmates of which one was an aristocrat suspected of murder and one was an Irishman (both being held at request of their own families). The revolutionaries wished to execute all foreigners and all aristocrats, leaving just 5 prisoners, 4 of which were forgers and one an attempted regicide.

So depressing to see this get this many upvotes on lemmy. I want to go back to that brief period where I mistakenly believed that the userbase of lemmy was a bit more intelligent and skeptical than reddit's. Nope, still just voting on gut reactions to headlines on whether they fit confirmation bias or not.

'sure it's just an unsubstantiated fbi tip that doesn't make any sense if you actually read it. but trump bad so it must be true' A random guy making a salacious claim about a former president without any evidence isn't news just because you want to believe it.

+bonus round 'oh you're skeptical of an unsubstantiated salacious claim somebody made about a former president? do you think trump good or something?'

Yeah, I haven't read the article yet, but the headline is certainly inflammatory. Change it to Biden and add some adrenochrome or satanic panic and it's q-nut BS. I just fucking looove that Blueanon is a thing now. Didn't we learn anything from that?

I guess we learned that people are stupid and gullible.

It makes me feel pretty down because it's so fucking hard to steer through the misinfo anymore. Hell, it could even be true. I'm too tired to dig on this one.

Practice information hygiene and stay skeptical!
