The skepticism around Platner isn't just the libs or the DNC. Leftests I respect are skeptical of him too.

It's hard not to notice that the people most willing to laugh off a Nazi tattoo are the same kind of people who might not have experience with fascist violence and oppression.

I think it's weird that so many people who call themselves antifascist are not only blind to his faults but would ridicule anyone not identically credulous.

I think that's a very fair assessment. And a lot of us feel the sting of the Fetterman betrayal. Unfortunately we beggar leftists can't be choosers...

I think it's actually the serious anti war leftists who will never get past the fact that he worked PMC in GWoT.

Do you think people can change?

Well with that kind of endorsement who could say no?

Who could be ambivalent towards Nazi tattoo mercenary redditor?

[–] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 6 points 1 hour ago

Genuinely curious, didn't he say he was going to have it removed?

The Nazi tattoo in question here being a stylized skull I've never seen tattooed on an actual Nazi.

That pic evokes no emotion in me at all, if you had asked me "is this Nazi shit yes or no" I would have said "no".

People made it sound like a totenkopf over a swastikaka...

[–] Alwaysnownevernotme@lemmy.world 3 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

The swastika is pretty cut and dry in the west. The double lightning bolts is a little more subtle but I would never doubt you knew the meaning.

This is like laughable.

All these dudes who can't find the fucking closet door... That is some gay behavior.
