depends, are you okay with waiting seven months for actual help?

i got a herniated disc a few years ago and while i did get something for the pain after a few weeks, by the time i got booked for an mri it had healed on its own.

A single trip to the psych office has a $200 co-pay per visit where I am, and that's with insurance.

Even the people in the US who recognize their issues and want help for them are priced out.

i paid 150kr per visit (≈11€) and i when i hit 1200 they sent me a card i can show instead of paying, valid for however many months are left until it's been a year since the first visit.

This is so much wrong. Doctor will not ask the patient to go out like that! They will charge consultation fee on your way out.

Only if you have private insurance

[–] Canconda@lemmy.ca 2 points 4 hours ago

More like only if you live in America.

This is legitimately the first response that comes to mind when I’m at a doctor’s appointment that I personally asked for.
Like, I don’t want to bother this nice lady with my problems. I’m sure she has better things to do than having to listen to me.

She wants to help you! That’s the whole reason she’s there in that room with you. You deserve to take up space, and have your concerns attended to /gen /pos

Aw, thanks. It's just my default behavior.
It takes a moment, and then I'll remember why I'm actually there. But the impulse to not want to be a bother to anyone runs deep :)
