Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

They could add him with a noose around the neck dangling of one presidents ear.

[–] MushuChupacabra@piefed.world 17 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

That would be consistent with all of the vandalism of national monuments they've done so far.

[–] Klear@piefed.world 14 points 2 hours ago

Mount Rushmore already is an act of vandalism.

This has already been looked into, because he said he wanted to be on Mount Rushmore during his first term, and a bill was introduced last year to add him.

No matter how much he may want it, it’s not possible; there’s not enough rock left on the mountain, and what’s there is too fragile to support it.

The New York Times actually had a good article last year with 3D visualizations showing exactly why it can’t happen: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2025/06/27/us/mount-rushmore-trump.html?unlocked_article_code=1.vFA.N4J6.i9vauCc4EdSZ

So at least there’s that.

As if facts would stop the regime. I bet there's some sort of a pool guy (and, purely coincidentally, Republican donor) that can pour that mug in concrete and nail it to the rock.

I hope you're not too attached to that monument - once everything collapses, there will be a sabotage/terrorism spinjob and they'll start searching for a new rock face in which to carve Trump, Trump, Trump and Trump.

More distractions while he and his brood steal billions and billions, and remove any means of prosecution for crimes, past, present, and future.

Remember the SCOTUS is giving too much power to a President. Precdent has been set, so let's vote for the next President that will use executive orders with as much abandon as ever, to claw back those billions. What we forget is that Trump is singular with his cutthroat aporach to thuggish-gangsta style "leadership" due to WHO taught him how to act: Roy Cohn, who is now dead and no one can replicate. JD Vance will be eaten alive by the Senate, and the Mitch McConnells are tottering on their graves and "capitalism" has become so toxic to families in it's late (or end-) stage form, that social problems won't be fixed by it, leading to political ones. Mamdani isn't an outlier.. he's the slowly arriving future.

I sure hope so. My wish is that they curtail presidential powers to an almost ceremonial level. No immunity, no pardons, no executive orders. While in office and direct or indirect income other than the presidential salary should be relinquished and full public availability of tax and business records will be a requirement.

You know what? Why the fuck not?

Why not add a rapist criminal conman who is actively destroying society to the most egregious symbol of cultural and societal destruction that is the project that took a sacred location and desecrated it as a monument to elite white male colonialism and the seizing of culture?

Seems fitting to me.

Current White House says a lot of stupid shit... and does even more.

Edit: if the addition of the pedophile is to symbolize everything that went wrong with America from beginning to end then, yes I'd have to agree with the White House I suppose.

Maybe on a pike

[–] grimpy@lemmy.myserv.one 2 points 2 hours ago

[–] MummifiedClient5000@feddit.dk 5 points 4 hours ago

The united snakes deserve this.

[–] Gates9@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 hours ago

Fuck it. Yeah go ahead. Make it bigger than the other ones. Make the hat an observation deck.
