Faced with a narrow path to winning control of the U.S. House, Democrats are seeing fresh opportunity in a northeast Ohio congressional seat where the Republican incumbent is facing mounting pressure over domestic abuse allegations in a bitter and drawn-out dispute with his ex-wife.

Allegations against U.S. Rep. Max Miller, a White House adviser during Donald Trump’s first term, have been public for years but have recently drawn increased media scrutiny amid an escalating legal back-and-forth with his former spouse, who is the daughter of U.S. Sen. Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio. That has Democrats sensing Miller could be vulnerable in a district he won two years ago with just over 51% of the vote.

Over the past week, they have called for Miller to resign, requested a congressional ethics investigation and suggested more help could be directed in the fall toward his Democratic opponent, union ironworker Brian Poindexter. Miller has denied the abuse allegations and filed defamation lawsuits against his ex-wife and a second accuser.

That headline sucks. Again AP?

Democrats see a chance to flip a seat as focus on abuse claims mounts against Ohio Rep. Max Miller

vs

Abuse claims mount against Republican US Rep from Ohio, Max Miller, before his election.

Because that's not what the news is here.

Allegations against U.S. Rep. Max Miller, a White House adviser during President Donald Trump’s first term, have been public for years but have recently drawn increased media scrutiny amid an escalating legal back-and-forth with his former spouse, who is the daughter of U.S. Sen. Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio.

Also, it's not the abuse claims that are mounting... it's the focus on them. The original headline is accurate, and yours isn't.

It's the same headline, I just took out the democrat part and clarified his name. Also, the media scrutiny part is hilarious and confirming what I'm saying about the AP. Last comment.

Also, it’s not the abuse claims that are mounting… it’s the focus on them. The original headline is accurate, and yours isn’t.

@MicroWave

Because of course. You get issues with Democrats, but I’m convinced at this point it’s a given with Republicans
