They are like children, they consider authority (religious or political) as unquestionable truth. If Trump said he would bring prices down and prices go up instead, it cannot be his fault. So they blame the bad guy.
'You've got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West. You know...morons. What did you expect?'

Yesterday I was at the grocery store and I saw Biden walking around raising price on various meat and produce.
When I confronted him he pointed to his secret service snipers, asked if I was feeling lucky and did triple backward handsprings to the nearest emergency exit.
When I was bringing the groceries to my car after I found a note saying he’d have my family killed if I said anything.
Today I also saw Biden raising prices in my local store. This is especially impressive considering I don't live in the US. He got confronted by the manager about it, so he hissed and hunched his back over, then transformed into a puddle and escaped down a drain.
Not an hour later I saw him stealing candy from a baby and kicking a puppy off a cliff. This was unusual because I live in a very flat part of my country, but I know what I saw.
And everybody clapped
I mean, if I saw Biden doing a triple back hand spring, if clap too.
I saw the same thing! Is it okay if you and I trade notes, or did he forbid that, too?

When I was in elementary school my family moved from California to South Carolina for three years. I literally did not learn anything in school the entire time I was there because their education system was at least 3 years behind California's, and that included advanced placement classes. I had to do additional course work when I came home from school everyday just so I wouldn't fall behind the next time we moved.
There is such a big difference in general education between states in the US. It does not surprise me at all when certain states make idiotic claims.
Well, the GOP needs stupid people. Smart people would not vote for them.
Which explains why they have so much California Derangement Syndrome.

I moved from NY to Ohio as a kid, and was at least a year ahead. I was a genius for one year, and then just ahead of the pack for the rest of school.
Graduated from Ohio public schools in the early 2000s.
The thing that stuck out to me was how different the tracks were. I was in the AP / honors track and learned a lot, I was friends with plenty of people in the standard track and it seemed like their curriculum was pretty awful.
I don’t recall students switching between the tracks either, I was with the same cohort of ~90 people and the other couple hundred students were left in the standard track. Pretty wild to use “how well did you understand prealgebra in 7th grade” to determine what quality of education you would get for the next half decade.
Overall though I think I was lucky, it was a poor public school where I never saw a levy pass (school levies are special taxes Ohio uses to fund their schools) but I had the good fortune of having dedicated and passionate teachers. From my chemistry teacher that taught us the value of the Socratic method to the retired semi-pro bowler turned calculus teacher whose infectious enthusiasm for calculus made me pursue a degree in mathematics.
I graduated though before one of the worst policy changes in recent history, the no child left behind policy (ironically my first job out of university was working on NCLB grant management software for the Ohio Department of Education). Possibly a well meaning policy, but it exacerbated teaching to the test and no child left behind just became “every child gets passed to the next grade no matter how poorly they are doing.” Replacing holding children back so they could develop and hopefully function at the appropriate grade level even if it took another year to shoving them through and leaving them constantly struggling with class work they can’t comprehend has been a massive, self-inflicted loss for the education system.

A friend of mine moved from SC to NY when I was a freshman in highschool. He was a sophomore in SC but to graduate on time in NY he had to take a full schedule each year and was always in a handful of classes with people in my grade.
I'm sure that was rough, the schools down there were just horrible. Pretty sure the majority of my school's budget went to the football and wrestling team......in elementary school.
I was born in South Carolina, but my parents moved to Iowa when I was four, rather than put me into that school system.
They tell me that whenever someone pointed out that their schools were 49th in the country, they would smile and say, "Thank God for Mississippi!"

Well, why didn't Trump press the magic "make everything cheap" button like he promised he would on "day one"?
Because he lied. He wouldn't lower prices even if he could. MAGA Parasites are all about taking more, not giving anything back.
Biden put the "make all kids Transgender" crank on autopilot and they still can't figure out how to stop it. Of course everyone knows that the president can only turn one crank per day.
On average, GOP voters are the most willing serfs a conman could ask for, and South Carolina certainly does nothing to bring that average up.
The most corrupt people leading the most ignorant. This is right-wing politics.

Which confirms what fox news and GOP leadership has successfully leveraged for years without remorse: southern conservative voters are highly vulnerable to propaganda, and are unable to change their views based on new information. They just blindingly believe it. This is why religion makes sense to them and why science is confusing and viewed with suspicion. Now where that intellectual stubbornness stems from I don't know.

Relax, it's 41.6% of 500 republican primary voters. A combined majority chose Trump, Congress or Corporations, which frankly are all good answers.
And again, these are GOP primary voters- although they have an open primary so it may include some Democrats and Independents. Just, not as many as registered Republicans.

(I'm trying to be a little more positive, and this was the only nice thing I could think of to say about SC.)
I saw the 2017 eclipse from Greenville Zoo.
The zoo was meh but the animals were going nuts as we approached totality, so that was cool.
Also there was a guy on the phone at the concession stand with somebody, and he was (very loudly, like straight out of trigger-happy tv) trying to tell them he was in the food line and asking if they wanted anything, but through his accent and the connection, the other party thought he was saying "Food Lion", a regional grocery chain in the area. Hilarity ensued. So that'll stick with me for a while.
Also at the Food Lion I got Cheerwine which I never had before. That's pretty good too.
Oh and I was visibly very hot and some stranger offered me a "coo rag". I'd never heard of them at the time, but was very put off by the offer. I later realized he was saying "cool rag" (which I also never heard of before, but now swear by). That'll also stick with me for a while. But points for hospitality? That mightve been in Charlotte tho.
