100% "flood the zone".

The worst part is now that the strategy has been completely and utterly validated, they're all gonna do it. This is the new status quo.

Man they put out an anti-terrorism thing where they straight up said, "We will find you, and we will kill you." About Americans with a marginalized political identity (Anarchism, in this case), and it straight up wasn't in NYT AT ALL.

it would be 24/7 coverage for weeks.

Back then there was one issue and you could cover it for weeks. Or there wasn't anything serious so you cover tan suits. Now there are so many issues you could cover a new one every day.

[–] Zephorah@discuss.online 2 points 49 minutes ago

That is intentional. Bannon called it “muzzle velocity”.

This is honestly what blows my mind. Sure, this should be first page matter under any other president. But so would so many other things that it doesn’t mean anything anymore

Bannon's "Flood the zone with shit" strategy is the one thing MAGA has managed to succeed at.

The press should shrink the articles accordingly to their number.

We would basically get a first page of large phrases.

During his presidency, Trump has lied an average of 169 times EVERY DAY.

[–] SeeMarkFly@lemmy.ml 25 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

85,654 false statements and counting.

The trick is to stop at 4,294,967,296

That's why you use 64 bits counters and identifiers.

gullible broke uneducated maga voters would cut off their own arm if it meant that black people would suffer

God I wish the marksmanship pre election was better

[–] Itdidnttrickledown@lemmy.world 2 points 30 minutes ago

Trumps team didn't want someone with good aim firing a shot.

No one cared about the color of his suit...

They just picked stuff and claimed that was the problem, because it wasn't acceptable to say what their real problem was.

Continuing to not understand that, or "play dumb to point out their hypocrisy" is a waste of time and only helps them.

[–] Bongo_Stryker@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 hour ago (2 children)

They were definately angry about color

[–] SeeMarkFly@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 hour ago

That's some real subtle humor there boy. Almost got past me...almost.

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

Yeah...

I thought I made that clear enough

[–] Triumph@fedia.io 9 points 3 hours ago

New mission: make them think that cutting off their own arms will make black people suffer.

No, it's because the human mind wants a hierarchy just like the mind of literally every social animal.

That's why almost every civilization has had to deal with racism, religious persecution, or some other form of caste system.

We fight that by erasing the lines, not reducing and insulting the people on the other side of the line the oligarchs drew.

That's literally what they wanted when they drew the line, and why they drew it about something they didn't care about.

Their happy to let us fight, because they don't care who wins.

If we're gonna win, we need to draw our own singular line where we know we have the numbers to win: fighting wealth inequality.

And that has to be done with zero means testing. If something is a human right, we all get it and not even Bill Gates should have to pay for it.

Some media got bought up by right wing figures. Then Trump did the classic authoritarian move to pressure anyone who had criticism by barring from press conferences and mess with access to for example the Pentagon, stack the FCC with a flunky and threaten media. Of course large media act like cowards and salute the new ruler.

[–] Sanctus@anarchist.nexus 9 points 3 hours ago (2 children)

What are the American People going to do about it? That is your answer.

Probably nothing but I'm hoping enough get up and vote to get control of the house and senate out of the republicans' hands.

[–] daychilde@lemmy.world 2 points 2 hours ago

You can easily find every single President from at least 1970 onward having worn a tan suit while in office.

The hypocrisy is exhausting.

Yes he's a paedophile gangster but he serves Israel and the Epstein class so he gets a pass.
