Why, Violet? Ignore the fuckin' haters and settle down with a single account.

If it's just a matter of "I want a different username," you can change your display name at any time.

[–] Dicska@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago

Plus, if it's the same one username then the "haters" can just block that one user and there will be fewer of them complaining.

[–] victorz@lemmy.world 11 points 8 hours ago (2 children)

I feel like I'm out of the loop on this one

[–] Dicska@lemmy.world 5 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

There is (was?) this user called Violet (I think by the time I caught up, their username was violet_08 - they might have changed it to did_you_find_violets, or it might be an entirely different user; I don't follow them too closely) who has been posting mostly thirsty/lewd/NSFW memes. AFAIK there have been several generations of accounts, deleted, new one created, and so on.

I don't get the hate, though. As long as the NSFW stuff is tagged I don't mind it, and having one permanent username also helps against complaints since people can just block them once, instead of having to block every new account.

What if its a violeticus situation?

[–] insomniac199@lemmy.world 4 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Right? I mean who's this "violet"

[–] victorz@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago

lmk if you find anything out!

[–] daggermoon@piefed.world 10 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

Fuck. Not again. Who's memes will I steal now?

[–] harrison_fnord@reddthat.com 3 points 1 hour ago

The memes have such a distinct feel to them they are not bound by username.

I’m fully convinced that my user tags are some sort of Death Note for her accounts. Every single time I finally give her a user tag to be able to recognize her new account, she deletes her account like a day later.

I tagged her like two days ago. And then yesterday she posted about deleting her account.

[–] Ilovethebomb@sh.itjust.works 11 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Why do you need to tag her account? She's one poster who you can immediately tell who it is.

[–] Wizard_Pope@lemmy.world 6 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Not really. It's always between like 3 people who post stuff like she does.

[–] underscores@lemmy.zip 2 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

all violet alts ?

just kidding ...

unless !?

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago (2 children)

Interrobang (‽) is your friend.

[–] Slovene85@sh.itjust.works 1 points 32 minutes ago

That sounds like a porn category.

[–] mobyduck648@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

‽ is a sublime punctuation mark.

The real question is, is this Violet the real deal Or are they just a collective?

[–] some_designer_dude@lemmy.world 51 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

A collection of violets is called a “spectrum”.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 6 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

Oh, hey. What's up, Violet?

[–] MeatPilot@sh.itjust.works 5 points 8 hours ago

Oh, I just have a tism

[–] Alcoholicorn@mander.xyz 127 points 1 day ago (3 children)

I like her posts, snapshots into someone leading a more interesting life than mine are nice.

[–] OldChicoAle@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

Interesting? I guess.

Never compare your everyday with someone else's claimed high points. Comparison is the thief of joy.

[–] bluesheep@sh.itjust.works 73 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I mean I find their posts interesting for that same reason, but I don't feel the need to get railed by old japanese men so I don't think much joy is being stolen from me

They just weren't shitposts, which just made it come off as attention seeking to me.

[–] qwertyasdf@lemmy.ml 3 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

I am by no means a expert on the matter but from what I gathered she seems to suffer from HPD. I had a work colleague who would speak very similarly to how she did and make up these wild sex experiences that either did not happen, or were wildly exaggerated

[–] Dicska@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago

I never even assumed their posts were about things that have actually happened. Based on the wildly different kinks, it was rather suspicious to me that those were just lewd fiction.

[–] Speculater@lemmy.world 39 points 22 hours ago (2 children)

Not to mention mega thirst trap material. "Love when my man makes me breakfast after fertilizing my eggs."

Casually mentions she's single and 18 in comments looking to travel. You know damn well people were getting cat fished.
