Why, Violet? Ignore the fuckin' haters and settle down with a single account.

If it's just a matter of "I want a different username," you can change your display name at any time.

[–] Dicska@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago

Plus, if it's the same one username then the "haters" can just block that one user and there will be fewer of them complaining.

[–] victorz@lemmy.world 13 points 10 hours ago (2 children)

I feel like I'm out of the loop on this one

[–] Dicska@lemmy.world 8 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

There is (was?) this user called Violet (I think by the time I caught up, their username was violet_08 - they might have changed it to did_you_find_violets, or it might be an entirely different user; I don't follow them too closely) who has been posting mostly thirsty/lewd/NSFW memes. AFAIK there have been several generations of accounts, deleted, new one created, and so on.

I don't get the hate, though. As long as the NSFW stuff is tagged I don't mind it, and having one permanent username also helps against complaints since people can just block them once, instead of having to block every new account.

What if its a violeticus situation?

[–] insomniac199@lemmy.world 4 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

Right? I mean who's this "violet"

[–] victorz@lemmy.world 2 points 5 hours ago

lmk if you find anything out!

[–] daggermoon@piefed.world 12 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

Fuck. Not again. Who's memes will I steal now?

[–] harrison_fnord@reddthat.com 5 points 3 hours ago

The memes have such a distinct feel to them they are not bound by username.

I’m fully convinced that my user tags are some sort of Death Note for her accounts. Every single time I finally give her a user tag to be able to recognize her new account, she deletes her account like a day later.

I tagged her like two days ago. And then yesterday she posted about deleting her account.

[–] Ilovethebomb@sh.itjust.works 11 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Why do you need to tag her account? She's one poster who you can immediately tell who it is.

[–] Wizard_Pope@lemmy.world 6 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Not really. It's always between like 3 people who post stuff like she does.

[–] underscores@lemmy.zip 2 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

just kidding ...

unless !?

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 3 points 3 hours ago (2 children)

Interrobang (‽) is your friend.

[–] Slovene85@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 hours ago

That sounds like a porn category.

[–] mobyduck648@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago

‽ is a sublime punctuation mark.

The real question is, is this Violet the real deal Or are they just a collective?

[–] some_designer_dude@lemmy.world 52 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

A collection of violets is called a “spectrum”.

Oh, hey. What's up, Violet?

[–] MeatPilot@sh.itjust.works 5 points 10 hours ago

Oh, I just have a tism

[–] Alcoholicorn@mander.xyz 134 points 1 day ago (8 children)

I like her posts, snapshots into someone leading a more interesting life than mine are nice.

[–] OldChicoAle@lemmy.world 3 points 3 hours ago

Interesting? I guess.

Never compare your everyday with someone else's claimed high points. Comparison is the thief of joy.

[–] bluesheep@sh.itjust.works 76 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I mean I find their posts interesting for that same reason, but I don't feel the need to get railed by old japanese men so I don't think much joy is being stolen from me
