Rules:

Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
- Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

Americans have been living under authoritarian regimes for the country's entire recorded history.
I don't know about you, but I'm quite surprised at all.this talk that losing an election undermines your prospects of gaining majority. That seems like something that should have been explained a while ago.
Near as I remember, "we need every seat to gain/maintain a majority and resist MAGA" has been the sole argument of the DNC in every race since 2016.
Same McKinsey group consultants making millions by telling them to say the line again, too.
Inevitably followed by “don’t like what we’re doing/how we’re doing stuff? At least we’re not MAGA”

If he had any ounce of scruple Chuck Schumer would keep his mouth starting today until the day he dies.
Nah, Schumer sucks and needs to be removed from his job as quickly as possible, but so long as he's still the Minority Leader in the Senate it would be weird and turn into a news story if he didn't say something like this
