This isn't shocking and has been floated around the real question how will people respond to it. It doesn't help they gave him that semi king status where anything as a Presidential act is fine to do.

As a former National Guard officer I am concerned that the Guard will be turned on us and most of the Guardsman will not push back. I live in the South and I know most of the state governors will do nothing. I hope the blue state governors do something. I hope the Guardsman remember their oath. I am not hopeful. Prepare for the worst.

I have come to understand narcissim is classified underpersonality disorder because of the sheer lack of self-preservation they have.
At the end of the day, it's about tearing down and going into the grave screaming for them, along with taking as many as possible.
I'd consider Orbán to be a narcissist too, though. Although not quite as far removed from the real world as Trump, of course.

Incidentally, that's why some of your Republican friends and family are at their most reasonable immediate after something happens. They haven't received their lines yet, and the feelings of the story are still their primary decision drivers.

This is also why I think the more immediate goal of Democrats and progressives is to attack the right wing propaganda vectors. If those collapse even if it's just say talk radio, tv, and maybe Facebook it'll destroy a lot of the transmission capabilities and people will more likely make decisions based on their actual baseline personalities.
As for how to destroy them, I say just blow out their business models. Ban their ability to advertise and collect data.

We need to all be eyeing the break glass solution: a general strike. If Trump subverts the elections, then we turn off the economy until fair elections are held.
IIRC, in the decades leading up to the 20th century, workers and other pro-labor bamfs in the US would go on parades around town to signal their collective strength to the bourgeoisie/industrialists and intimidate them into compliance.
Bring back the bullying of capitalists, please. Also, who doesn't love a parade?
Now get people to actually do it. I'll gladly do it but I don't think my neighbors would. not because they are on the side of evil, but because they can't afford a day without money. (At least that's what they think, the reality though might be different)

I'm not convinced we gave him anything. There are Russian Tails in 2016, 2020, and 2024 all in favor of him. You can see it get more pronounced in every election with the 2024 election being the most obvious, likely because they failed to successfully cheat in 2020 thanks to all the mail-in ballots.

He isn’t ‘mulling’ it or even considering it, it’s already set into motion. They’re going to steal the midterms. Everybody knows except for the American people it seems who will gladly except their already shithole country will become that even more
I think you'll find that many Americans see this as the last bit of faith in the system they have left. If it gets pulled out of their hands, you're going to see a very different type of American.

Is there any legal precedent for what happens when would-be voters are detained in front of polls by federal agents for bullshit reasons that definitely have nothing to do with their voter registration? If not, I'm sure there will be.
