I think we aren’t politicians. For good reason. None of us want to listen to constituents or go yo speeches or give speeches or dress up and clap for budget wins.

So, why aren’t they doing what we’d do? Shit on trump at every opportunity? Spend days flaming everyone who’s a complete fascist fuckwit?

Yeah i dunno. I think they imagine themselves doing it as much as we imagine ourselves writing legislation, getting whip counts, and deciding who’s going to be the next thing.

Dems have been behind the eightball on communications forever, in part because progressives hate being told what to think. Republicans have it easy: create the talking points, roll it out on your networks and let the flag-wavers do the rest.

If the DNC did that - with anti-trump rhetoric - I think we’d love it at first, and then wonder what their game was. By sticking to real-world criticisms, it’s not fun or exciting and it gets zero press; but it’s real.
