Donald Trump on Sunday said vandals are to blame for large swaths of dead grass on the National Mall near the World War II Memorial — in the same spot where Trump had a stage built and hosted crowds for his July 4 celebration.

Trump made the accusation in a social media post without saying why he believes it’s the work of vandals instead of trampled turf from the Independence Day festivities. He posted a photo showing a once-grassy area by the World War II Memorial, now patchy and brown across much of the sprawling turf.

“Look what VANDALS did to the grass connecting the vandalized World War II Monument and the vandalized Reflecting Pool, which will be opened again, and better than ever, shortly,” Trump said on his Truth Social platform.

Literally the old man yelling about people on his grass

[–] Snowies@lemmy.zip 8 points 14 hours ago* (last edited 14 hours ago) (1 children)

He thinks he can say anything and it will distract us from his war crimes and the sex trafficking from Mari Lago and the rapes and the sexual assaults and the pedophilia and adultery and all the fraud and insider trading and market manipulation and bribery and election interference and the treason and the fake elector scheme and dodging the draft and colluding with dictators and constantly lying to the public and alienating all our nation state allies and depleting our military’s munitions and filling the government with incompetent loyalists and etc etc etc the list never fucking ends…

And he thinks he can point at some grass and say “hey look over there!” And we will just roll over and fall for it.

His cult of mouth-breathers will believe anything focks nooz tells them to be outraged at

[–] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 5 points 13 hours ago

He is literally so fucking senile. Jesus Christ.

[–] WesternInfidels@feddit.online 10 points 15 hours ago

Maybe it was all the Diet Coke that did it?

“Your dad argues that diet soda is good for him because it kills grass – if poured on grass – so, therefore, it must kill cancer cells inside the body,” Oz said on Triggered with Don Jr, the president’s eldest son’s podcast.

Trump believes diet soda kills cancer cells, Dr Oz reveals

East wing destroyed, reflecting pool destroyed, lawn destroyed. I wish we could see before and after pics.

[–] treesquid@lemmy.world 5 points 13 hours ago

Don't forget the rose garden

[–] Bubbaonthebeach@lemmy.ca 6 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

I think he's trolling the American public. He knows darn well that it was vandalized - by him. And he knows that no one is going to do a damn thing about it.

[–] III@lemmy.world 2 points 16 hours ago

Not so much trolling as he is distracting from his constant crimes.

[–] corsicanguppy@lemmy.ca 17 points 23 hours ago

Is this the "someone shit in my pants", but the lawn edition?

[–] frunch@lemmy.world 93 points 1 day ago (3 children)

I imagine he also makes similar accusations when he shits his pants. "How did this shit appear on my underwear and pants? Clearly the work of Antifa!" ☝️🍊

[–] BlameTheAntifa@lemmy.world 1 points 14 hours ago

It is always the Antifa.

[–] pentastarm@piefed.ca 20 points 1 day ago (1 children)

"BIDEN has been SHITTING my pants every day since I took back over!!"

[–] Thebeardedsinglemalt@lemmy.world 4 points 23 hours ago

And Obama has been shitting my pants since before Biden

[–] Tolookah@discuss.tchncs.de 66 points 1 day ago (2 children)

He's not wrong, it was a vandal. They even tore down the east wing and clogged up the straight of Hormuz like it was a low flow toilet in the Whitehouse.

Hey, leave the Germanic tribe of the Vandals out of this. They got a bad rep from those pesky Romans, but they were clearly not as bad as that orange twat.

[–] bedwyr@piefed.ca 4 points 1 day ago

He's more like Sulla in the late empire period, when the Republic died in all but name,in the agrarian revolt and civil war and his appointment as dictator for 10 years until his death, a reign of terror.

He put daily lists of proscriptions in the forum every day, first enemies. No police then, citizens got a reward killing them. Then he would seize their assets and spend it in drunken orgies and such. He then took to proscribing the rich of his own party under false pretense to seize their assets.

He eventually died from some kind of parasitic infection in his asshole.

[–] billwashere@lemmy.world 3 points 17 hours ago

Oh FFS, this shit again?!?

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 28 points 1 day ago

He's actually right about vandals, but just not in the way he thinks he is.

[–] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 17 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Vandal-In-Chief praises the efforts of his vassal vandals:

“Look what VANDALS did to the grass connecting the vandalized World War II Monument and the vandalized Reflecting Pool, which will be opened again, and better than ever, shortly”

He's not complaining, he's crowing.

His meaning of "better than ever" is different from that of any sane person

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago (2 children)

For some reason I'm reminded of that crazy lady that was the GF of Junior screaming to an empty room about how the "best is yet to COME!!!!"

Whatever happened to that crazy lady, anyway? 🤔

Oh right, she was used up and cast aside like a used Kleenex....

[–] Malyca@lemmy.zip 3 points 23 hours ago

He dumped her and Trump made her go away with a ambassador role

[–] Tower@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 day ago (2 children)

They split in 2024, but she got "being the ambassador to Greece" out of it.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 3 points 23 hours ago

Yeah, maybe a softer landing than most of his former insiders get, I suppose. Still, probably orchestrated to get her away and out of the picture w/o her writing some tell-all book...

Seems like we have had a increase of "vandals" ever since this guy took office again. Maybe its the guy in charges fault?

[–] Assassassin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 10 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Even after he deployed the national guard to DC to crack down on crime. So not only has crime gone up under him, it's gone up while he's been actively "stopping it"

[–] NocturnalMorning@lemmy.world 2 points 23 hours ago

Nah, I'm in D.C. right now. The natioan guards are bored out of their mind.

[–] Snapz@lemmy.world 4 points 20 hours ago

Anyone who don't think my pants was vandalized by librulcrats should go back to helicopters school.

[–] lemmyng@piefed.ca 27 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Well he's not wrong, it is vandals... the vandals living in the White House.

[–] danc4498@lemmy.world 16 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Every accusation is a confession. This is a little on the nose, though.

Man, you'd think that the residence of the president of the united states would have the security to prevent people from messing up the grass. I guess it's easier to get to the president than was thought possible. I wonder if he's a security nightmare to the people who have to protect his worthless ass.

[–] YouTalkinToMe@lemmy.world 1 points 16 hours ago

That's why he arrives to the Whitehouse by Catering One nowadays.

[–] gdog05@lemmy.world 1 points 16 hours ago

University of Idaho really hates this guy and this country.

[–] absGeekNZ@lemmy.nz 5 points 23 hours ago

These fucken guys again:

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 8 points 1 day ago (3 children)

What a dumbass. Does he know how much shit is exploding out of both ends of his disgusting lumpy fleshsuit, or is he really that oblivious?

Are the Vandals still together? Does Warped Tour go to DC?

[–] bunnybunny@lemmy.zip 3 points 23 hours ago

He can’t even take responsibility for trampled grass

[–] DataCrime@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 1 day ago

"Hey you kids! Get off my lawn!"

[–] medicsofanarchy@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago (2 children)

How did these vandals get past our Brave National Guard armed with Automatic Weapons and Keen Eyesight? Thank you for your attention to this matter.

How does he still have supporters though? He doesn't even know where he is 95% of the time.

Wasnt this case actually vandalism? I thought someone went out with roundup or vinegar or something and killed the grass in a pattern like 88 47 or something (Hitler's number and Trump's number)

Or was that a different lawn?

[–] absentbird@lemmy.world 1 points 14 hours ago

That was in June, and it was 86 47 (86 being restaurant lingo for 'remove from the establishment') that was also a different patch of grass.

[–] brown567@sh.itjust.works 1 points 14 hours ago* (last edited 14 hours ago)
[–] PostProcess@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

He's become the stereotypical old man, telling the kids to stay off his grass...
