And yet we let evil prevail. Humanity is pathetic.
Bezos really needs the water for his data centers. Come on guys, don’t be a dick and just dehydrate yourself and shower for 10 seconds max and we can have all the data centers Jeff wants!
/me laughs in POTS
I'm at 3 liters a day of mostly electrolyte water, 30oz (0.88 liter) at a time.
I mean, why the electrolytes though? That much sodium is gonna kinda kill you
Iirc, the studies that showed that lower sodium diets reduced risk of heart problems were performed on people that already had heart problems, not in the general population. And my cardiologist is happy. Every time I see him he looks at my 30oz water bottle and checks with me that it's not plain water. Too much plain water without salt is bad for you.
I do watch and make sure my electrolyte powder doesn't have B6 or anything else I could accumulate too much of.
Isn't that a kidney stone risk? Someone once told me some health water thingy lead to kidney stones if drunk in too much quantity.
Better than your heart exploding. And I imagine the quantity is dialed in by their doctor to limit risk while still helping to treat the POTS.
Drink Brawndo instead! It's also what plants crave! (/s just in case).
You need around 2 litres a day
Bezos wants your water for himself
Edit: this is WSJ not WaPo
Wall Street* wants your water for themselves
Water SUCKS! Gatorade is better
🎶 Waaater sucks! It really, really suuuucks! Waaater sucks! 🎶
good, they are annoying.
Except it's completely true - rare for WSJ, I know, but not completely unheard of. The weird hype around really unnecessarily excessive water intake is "Facebook Grandma Nutrition"-level bullshit. Healthy people have a reliable, fine-tuned mechanism for figuring out when water is needed: it's called being fucking thirsty
Reposting because this is completely wrong.
After many visits for my daughter with different doctors, all of which were different specializations, the consistent advice from all of them was "going by thirst" is absolutely wrong.
They each said if you wait to be thirsty, you are already dehydrated.
It was news to me because I grew up with "drink when you are thirsty".
Yeah, until that mechanism isn’t working anymore, as distraction nowadays is a real issue. Too often I forget about water intake if I don’t have water next to me.
Additionally, go ask dermatologist what they think about water intake. You can literally see differences in skin health, especially long-term damage which cannot be reversed.
Begun, the water wars have.
Do I need to feel bad about wanting to get an RO system yet?
Like on the one hand, I don't really want to keep drinking teflon and microplastics. But on the other hand, there's a lot of waste from RO systems...but on the other hand, residential water waste is peanuts as far as conservation goes. Also I blame the teflon for having too many hands.
To be fair, if you ask a doctor there is not much reason for drinking water beyond when you're thirsty.
Or they want to sell more plastic per ounce.
Must be soon
