Created as an evolution of White People Twitter and other tweet-capture subreddits.

- Doctored posts/images and AI are allowed, but discouraged. You MUST indicate this in your post (even if you didn't originally know). If an image is found to be fabricated or edited in any way and it is not properly labeled, it will be deleted.
- Absolutely no NSFL content.
- Be nice. Don't take anything personally. Take political debates to the appropriate communities. Take personal disagreements & arguments to private messages.
- No advertising, brand promotion, or guerrilla marketing.

No, it was what made you (classically) educated, not intelligent. And for people who don't really know each other it is easier to start the conversation if they have something in common. That's one of the reasons it used to be expected to have some education in this direction.
Also, the douchebag in the original picture wrote Cellini twice, so he is not even "intelligent" :)
The second one is the lesser known Bob Cellini from Poughkeepsie, who had a poignant bathroom wall writing style.
A guy asked me one time if I thought I was smarter/better educated than the classically educated American founding fathers, and I was like, "You mean the guys who didn't know about dinosaurs or plate tectonics?" Also they thought they'd finish making the government at some point and then just never did, which we've been dealing with for a long time now. So yeah, those guys weren't idiots, but let's not pretend they were special.

I do wonder sometimes why most of the history nerds I know are men. Not that I know no female history nerds at all, but men appear to be more drawn to history, or more encouraged to be casually interested?
I'm not sure, this could be all exclusively anecdotal and the actual numbers may not reflect my experience.
Anecdotally, I've noticed the same thing, but I think it might have something to do with the type of gatekeeping and "well akshually" apparent in the original post.

Most of those topics were taught/mentioned in highschool. Does he want a freshly graduated person - bc no way anyone who is not in humanities would retain it long term....
Surely at least one of these people created something about not being a pretentious asshole?
