On the one hand, good. On the other, is this like how Trump is always polling at his lowest levels ever and yet it's always 38%?
Like is this dire turn going to be a single seat difference in Congress? Because thus far the actual results of Republican discontent are underwhelming.
Its just the news cycle doing the doom and gloom shit....Trumps been in the toilet and the GOP on the edge of disaster since his first term....ain't happened yet and probably won't ever

I feel like USAmericans are not aware how shocking this number is. My chancellor hasn't done a fraction of Trump's idiocy and is polling at less than 10% (deservedly).
I feel like the wool has been pulled off my eyes re. the USA. If even this embarrassing stain of human dreck still has almost half the country behind him, that's almost half of US society being fundamentally incompatible with western values of freedom and tolerance.
There is an utterly huge swathe of America who thinks the freedom to have and carry guns is the most important freedom there is, because "it's the one that protects all the others," and they will literally only vote Republican because it's the only issue they really give a shit about. Adjacent to that is the belief that freedom should carry no responsibility or obligation to others. The Republican Party is the home of zealots who believe the world is black and white, and the majority of the country believes we are the best country in the world and therefore we are justified when we choose violence.
But also, my belief is that Americans aren't really unlike other humans other than by circumstance. Globally, far right parties have been on the rise, not just in America. I fear we are the canary in the coal mine.
