Eight in 10 Americans support a maximum age limit for officials in Congress, according to a May 2026 NPR/PBS News/Marist poll. The support for age limits spans ideological lines, with 78% of Democrats, 83% of Republicans, and 79% of independents in favor, according to the poll.

Set maximum age for public service to match the current retirement age. If you will hit that age during the scheduled term, you are deemed ineligible to seek that position.
Age limits in Congress are popular among Americans
Well, who's reelecting him then, Canadians? Do Americans believe that incumbents have an advantage because voters are too stupid to choose? Maybe the problem here isn't the voters but the systems that have been built by the political machine? Why is it popular for American voters to want to limit their own power?
For every complex problem there is a solution that's simple, elegant, easy to understand and wrong. Age/ Term limits make perfect sense, unless you think about them.

The most widespread and insidious propaganda in America is "everyone but you and me are idiots." Like,
Why did that lawmaker you thought you supported just say something stupid? Oh, they don't really mean it, they've just got to appeal to all the idiots out there.
Why did the company take useful features out of their product? They had to dumb it down for all the idiots out there.
Want to know why the world isn't a better place? It's not because I make so much money off of its suffering, it's because there's just too many idiots out there.
So, yes, I believe the average American voter has been brainwashed into thinking the average American voter is too stupid to choose, and that's at least part of the reason it's so hard to get people to care about democracy and tyranny and stuff like that.
This POS is going to be 97 if he lives to the end of his term.
