Yes.

It is s given that these elections will be be rigged.

The question is: will Americans accept it? If they do - it gets far, far worse for them.

It will either be the final nail in the dystopian dictatorship that the US is becoming, or civil war.

My bet is on the former.

Gonna be a BRUTAL Christmas either way. Worse in the coming year, like the US has never seen.

[–] Mantzy81@aussie.zone 36 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

The US electorate will be apathetic until they're being sent to the camps because one of their grandparents was 1/2 non-white.

[–] cmbabul@slrpnk.net 22 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

There’s far too many circuses here, and the bread while becoming progressively more expensive still hasn’t run out. A good half of the electorate doesn’t pay attention at all becuase they’ve just accepted all politicians are going to screw them over and will side with the wealthy and businesses. Those folks flat out refuse to believe anything could ever really change in a significant way, they are the “I just wanna grill for gods sake” people

Of those who are paying attention about 3/4 of them get all their info from mainstream news outlets. About half of them hate Trump and everything happening right now, but all of them even the Trump supporters that constantly talk about figting an oppressive government are still very much in the “we just want to live our lives” way of thinking.

The remaining 1/8 of Americans who are aware of what’s happening can be split into the true maga believers and then those of us who know the point the poster you’re responding to made is very frighteningly correct.

And everyone I just mentioned, except for maybe the ardent fascists are fucking exhausted and atomized to the point of isolation by both this reality and the way the American work experience has been designed. Which drives a wedge between everyone not in one’s immediate family unit.

Unless either food rapidly becomes unobtainable or football season is canceled before November I don’t see an uprising happening.

That would require them to actually define what white is beyond skin color and vague European descent. White has always been a fluid group meant to allow for punishment of ethnic groups, that’s why even Irish wasn’t white at one point. They will send you to the camps just because they don’t like you.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 weeks ago

If the fascism spreads to Canada, I'm expecting to be thrown in a camp because I'm autistic or because of my political views

[–] Pratai@piefed.ca 10 points 2 weeks ago

Yes. Americans will accept it. We have accepted that he fucks children and we have accepted that he rigged past elections.

What makes this different.

There is no people more complacent and docile as Americans.

[–] anarchy79@lemmy.world 32 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

It's so ridiculous that when they talk about all this rampant election fraud coming from the Repugs they still pretend that the system is working and that Trump & ilk didn't "get to" cheat the system, just "tilt it" a little.

Motherfucker you have to be dumb to think Musk wasn't specifically hired to rig it, and then given three months to clear up all the tracks with his fucking DOGE only to then fuck off and stay off until suddenly a new election is coming up.

Stop mincing words, they are actively cheating the system ffs...

[–] QueenHawlSera@piefed.social 10 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

They basically admitted to it, no way a President as unpopular as Trump won all the battleground states just because Kamala "had a weird laugh", Elon Musk hacked the vote with Starlink.

The Dems should never have agreed to "Accept the results no matter what"

[–] TheFogan@programming.dev 13 points 2 weeks ago

Elon Musk hacked the vote with Starlink.

That's the one part that doesn't really fit. That's like if I accuse someone of breaking down a wooden door with an EMP. The premise that musk found a way to rig the machines sounds very viable. Satilites don't unless say the voting machines used starlink to send their talleys.

[–] AuroraZzz@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

He didn't hack the vote with starlink. People just gave him access to the voting machines. Then he switched the president on down ballot democrat votes to trump. https://www.aei.org/social-cultural-and-constitutional-studies/trumps-victory-and-down-ballot-results-in-the-states/

[–] QueenHawlSera@piefed.social 4 points 2 weeks ago

That explains why so many ballots had Dem for everything but President

[–] PalmTreeIsBestTree@lemmy.world 23 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

He rigged 2024 with Elon and admitted it on live TV…

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

And still there were no consequences

[–] PalmTreeIsBestTree@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

Never will be. Pedos with money control the world.

[–] LodeMike@lemmy.today 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I haven't seen can I please have a link.

[–] LodeMike@lemmy.today 1 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

Finally got around to watching this. It's hard to tell if it's true or brain rot. elon engaged in other things that would affect the outcome.

[–] chuckleslord@lemmy.world -5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

*eye-roll

The two, famously habitual liars claimed to be able to cheat the voting system and you believed them. Do you have any proof or is it more of the same hand-waving bullshit?

[–] HugeNerd@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 weeks ago

It was for sure Russia.

[–] Pratai@piefed.ca 20 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)
[–] capt_wolf@lemmy.world 9 points 2 weeks ago

The fact that they're just getting around to asking now means he already has.

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 18 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

trump - "You guys should cheat like hell! Me? I've got a hot date with a fresh tween! Remember, this is all for me!!!".

[–] green_goglin@thelemmy.club 2 points 2 weeks ago

Reverse uno

[–] StabbingSky@lemmy.zip 17 points 2 weeks ago

They rigged the 24 elections, so why not?

[–] Gladaed@feddit.org 12 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Gerrymandering of districts is real. So is the blue bias of surveys.

Though Gerrymandered districts are more susceptible to flipping if your approval is on a historical low as you sacrificed your fortresses to construct them.

And a close election can be contested more easily. Even Victor orban just admitted defeat so even non democratic seeming candidates may listen to the people, more so than you'd think.

[–] Rothe@piefed.social 9 points 2 weeks ago

Gerrymandering is probably gonna be the least of the cheating going on. Suppression of mail votes, deployment of brownshirts at polling stations, oligarchs offering money for votes, voting officials being Trump partisants doing whatever they want, and much much more.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 2 weeks ago

Though Gerrymandered districts are more susceptible to flipping if your approval is on a historical low as you sacrificed your fortresses to construct them.

I think this will happen in some places (assuming we end up having an election), and the GOP will use it as evidence that Democrats cheated.

They stacked the deck to win those districts, and when they don't, they will claim the Democrats cheated.

[–] TemplaerDude@sh.itjust.works 11 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Guy has a private racist military unit throwing men, women and children behind bars and Americans are all still questioning whether he’ll try to rig the elections.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

I want to know why nothing seems to be being done to stop him from rigging the elections

[–] LodeMike@lemmy.today 1 points 2 weeks ago

Because our elections are extremely robust and run by the states

[–] green_link@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago

you know the old joke about Americans being stupid and lazy? yeah about that....

[–] cattywampas@lemmy.world 9 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Sign up to be a poll worker. Do it today.

Nobody who is a poll worker has ever said that an election was stolen.

[–] anarchy79@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

What the hell would any one poll worker know about that? Also, PLENTY of poll workers have said exactly that. The fuck.

[–] Psythik@lemmy.world -2 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

I'm sorry but you have to be even more autistic than I am to be this unable to pick up on the heavy sarcasm just oozing from their post. Come on, bro; don't be so dense.

[–] Mobilegoo@piefed.ca 7 points 2 weeks ago

How do you think he won his 2nd term??

[–] hanrahan@slrpnk.net 4 points 2 weeks ago

yes, and will he get away with it, also yes. He git away with insurrection.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 weeks ago

The anticipation is stressing me out and I don't even live in the Untied States. Election day is in four weeks. How soon will he declare a state of emergency? Will there be violence on election day? Will he refuse to certify any democrats who win the elections? I'm just really unnerved by the uncertainty

[–] mHtt@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 weeks ago

'if your rich, they let you'

[–] Yerbouti@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Does he need to? He was elected after trying to take the Capitol, I'm sure he's one promise away from getting the highest score a party ever had. Americans are way too smart to give the control of their country to dangerous antifa woke terrorists. Plus they'll get a big check if they vote for daddy.

[–] QueenHawlSera@piefed.social 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I have pretty much resigned to One Party Government, I have given up on the Dems winning anything again. The fix is in. I'll still vote because it's the right thing to do, but make no mistake, this is the Alt Right's nation now.

They'll have a super majority forever, and their supporters will be ignorant of this and blame every bad thing on "Socialist Communist Dems" and "Dirty Fascist Anitfas", even as less and less of them hold power.

[–] SuperNovaStar@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 2 weeks ago

Well nothing lasts forever, but yeah. Could be a very long winter

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

How will he rig the elections?

“The elections were rigged. I’m not leaving.”

There. He did it.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 2 points 2 weeks ago

Of course he can. And will. Unless the headline is asking if he can legally rig them. In which case: NO.

[–] WanderWisley@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago

They’ve done it before, they WILL and ARE gonna do it again…

[–] SabinStargem@lemmy.today 1 points 2 weeks ago

I think Elon rigged the last election. They will do it again this election, but won't have enough fig leafs to fool people.
