He didn't go to jail for raping kids for over a decade...

But for paying one of the kids off, and that was less than a year in jail

[–] TeaWithDani@lemmy.world 21 points 2 weeks ago

"He admitted to the abuse at a sentencing hearing, though he was never convicted of any sexual crimes."

From his wiki page. Did he really admit to it and not get prosecuted???

Statute of limitations. Yes, it's still outrageous but that's the reason.

Only if enough of us actually do our part and pee on his grave.

Like all Republican deaths, his will be celebrated.

[–] MrVilliam@sh.itjust.works 22 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

We got beloved octogenarians, now a hated octogenarian and child rapist; almost there. I'd love to open that particular bottle of bourbon in 2026.

[–] rockSlayer@lemmy.blahaj.zone 12 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Hey don't forget that we also got that old bag Lindsey Graham

[–] vaultdweller013@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 weeks ago

Powerword Ladybugs.

[–] anarchy79@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago

But there are so many others and they breed offspring. These motherfuckers are all about dynastic rule.

One dying at a time will not do, no sir that is not enough at all.

[–] ChunkMcHorkle@lemmy.world 17 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

World's a slightly better place today. Hope he's getting his ass kicked in hell.

[–] lightnsfw@reddthat.com 6 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

He's not, hell isn't real. That child molesting fuck should have been made to suffer while he was still alive.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

He did serve over a year on prison, and is still the highest ranking American politician to go to jail. When people complain that we'll never punish Trump and his henchmen, remember that we punished Hastert for being a pedophile, we can can punish the rest of them, too.

[–] lightnsfw@reddthat.com 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Oh boy! An entire year! WOW! We sure showed him!

What a fucking cartwheel of a headline to not say this man was a soulless pedophile who was third in line to the presidency for a time.

Would have been much better if he'd died at 44, though, the year before he first entered Congress.

Or better yet, at 22 before he got access to his victims.

[–] zeppo@lemmy.world 11 points 2 weeks ago

Classic Republican scumbag

[–] forkDestroyer@infosec.pub 9 points 2 weeks ago

He died of natural causes in his home, probably after living a comfortable life.

Maybe there's an afterlife where he has to make up for his sins. Otherwise...

[–] Sumocat@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago

Hastert was an exemplary Republican House Speaker; Mike Johnson and others should follow his example and be convicted of their crimes or follow John Boehner’s example and resign.

[–] Fishnoodle@lemmy.world 7 points 2 weeks ago

Get fucked in hell pedo

He's no longer a drain on our resources, so that's something.

[–] RustyEarthfire@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago

I wish the Hastert Rule would die. It's one of the most anti-democractic principles in Congress (among some fierce contenders).

[–] bitjunkie@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago

Good fucking riddance.

[–] Zacpod@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

Good. Fuck you, you pedo enabling shitstain.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Headline includes “Went to prison”, doesn’t include what for

[–] Manjushri@piefed.social 4 points 2 weeks ago

I'll give you a hint: the GOP is now down one pedophile.

[–] My_IFAKs___gone@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

How and why the fuck do these anthropomorphic shitheaps keep living so fucking long? My best guess... They're demons sent to terrorize humanity and it takes approximately 80-88 years for their insides to decay to the point they need to be recalled to home base for a rebuild.

At least this particular pisspuddle was probably emotionally miserable its entire life, otherwise it would have found something actually fulfilling and helpful to do with its energy.

[–] Manjushri@piefed.social 4 points 2 weeks ago

Because as they dont have to rely on the shitty health care the rest of America does. Congress critters get the best care available to almost anyone.

[–] altphoto@lemmy.today 1 points 2 weeks ago

So is he 84 yet?
