I still fully believe someone did this all as a joke, people fell for it and plastic surgeons or just laughing their asses off all the way to the bank

PSA: if you want to age well:

  • wear sunscreen

  • eat fruits and veg, avoid sugar as much as you can

  • do some form of cardio(walking is perfectly fine, you just want to get your heart going)

  • Do some form of resistance training.(calisthenics, lift a litre bottle)

  • Sleep around 7 to 8 hrs

You'll not only be the hottest 60 or 70 year old, you're quality of life won't degrade much.

My mental health is too poor to be able to do any of those.

First, these ladies aren’t doing anti aging surgeries, they are doing “have a different face” surgeries.

Second, the only way to win at the “wOmeN sHouLd jUSt aGe GrAceFullY” bullshit is to know that there is no winning.

You will be accused of “letting yourself go” or “getting too much work done.” Period. There are like 12 women in the world at any given time who will age in a way that is aesthetically pleasing to the majority, and you probably won’t be one of them.

So pick which you are more comfortable with and do what ever the fuck you want.

All joking aside, I couldn't help but measure myself against this checklist and I come up short on cooking (I don't cook. Feed your own damn self because I feed my own damn self which doesn't involve cooking); wearing makeup (I don't wear makeup because I look fine without it. If I absolutely have to wear some, I hire a professional makeup artist to do it for me); listen to men? Only if they're talking to me and have something constructive to say and they're trustworthy.

To be fair, that happens for both sides.

Embrace equality, hate everyone equally!!!

My half-baked theory is that many right-wingers don't have any sense of aesthetics at all. Instead, they perceive signifiers. Which is why so many of them like ugly tacky garbage, as long as it looks shiny and new and expensive.

Plastic surgery can be a signifier -- if it's obvious plastic surgery. That's where "Mar-a-Lago Face" comes from.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 1 day ago

Would explain why right wing art is always garbage, and they can't make music for shit

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

That's Billy the puppet, not Jigsaw.

[–] justme@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 1 day ago

the others are the patients, not the surgeons (who made them look this way)

[–] norealme@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

It's always really scary.

Botox is a performance enhancing drug for liars.

The Laura Loomer one especially frustrates me. She was infinitely more attractive before she had all that work done :/

[–] boonhet@sopuli.xyz 4 points 1 day ago

Nothing special either way about her appearance before, but Megan Fox was legitimately one of the most beautiful women alive. Though I don't think she did it for Trump's approval at least (she started pretty early with the first boob job), I suspect it was her own insecurity and I'm not going to be judgemental of that, we've all got our issues.

[–] Jax@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

It could just be that I can't separate her from the ugliness of her character but, personally, I think she was ugly before and after.

[–] Psythik@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Yeah it's probably that, because she was stunning.

[–] ReluctantMuskrat@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago (2 children)

"Frustrates" is a curious word choice...

[–] AdolfSchmitler@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

For a male example that "Clavicular" guy was very attractive before his surgeries too. I think there's something beautiful in people accepting and loving who they are already so all this elective surgery stuff gives me the ick.

[–] AdolfSchmitler@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yes, because it means she couldn't see how beautiful she already was and that's frustrating to me when I think about it.

[–] justme@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 1 day ago

it's often the social bubble they live/work in that peer pressures them into this.

what a beauty!

[–] joelfromaus@aussie.zone 38 points 2 days ago (8 children)

I thought this was 4 different people. I was trying to figure out what was wrong with the ones on the left!! Holy shit, that’s horrible.

Who are these 4 different people? /s

[–] SaltyIceteaMaker@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

the 2 on the left look fine tho?

[–] Lumisal@lemmy.world 23 points 1 day ago (1 children)

That's the "before" photos

[–] daannii@lemmy.world 21 points 1 day ago

I don't get this obsession with having no facial lines on your face.

Dimples used to be seen as cute.

I've had lines on my forehead since I was a kid and it helps people read my expression. It's not a flaw.

Now it's fill and paralyze the face .

How is this so popular?

[–] im_fine_sandy@nord.pub 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I don't think that's really fair to megan fox if I'm honest.

I mean there's a conversation to be had about what she looked like in her early 20s and how much better she would have looked if she had have aged gracefully since then, but I think it would be tough to find a photo of her looking like this.

[–] SippyCup@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

You've also probably never seen a photo of Megan Fox from when she was young that wasn't heavily edited to make her as attractive as possible.
