How bizarre that protesting authoritarianism is now considered "unAmerican" by conservatives. I still remember when their slogans were all about "Freedom" and "Respecting the Constitution". Now, they're openly celebrating fascism. smh.
Yeah, it's time to stop calling them conservatives. They're not being conservative. Dunno what to replace it with.

The Guardian has referred to them as "right wing", which is far more accurate.
On the contrary, what they're doing now is the truest expression of conservatism they've done in living memory.
Imagine going back in time and telling the signatories of the declaration of independence that politicians in 250 years would be calling a "No Kings" protest terrorists and that they hate America.
Imagine going back to 2006, when Idiocracy was released, and telling people that it's only going to take 20 years for that to happen, not 500.
There are two things however which I dislike strongly. 1. The want of a declaration of rights. I am in hopes the opposition of Virginia will remedy this, and produce such a declaration. 2. The perpetual re-eligibility of the President. This I fear will make that an office for life first, and then hereditary. I was much an enemy to monarchy before I came to Europe. I am ten thousand times more so since I have seen what they are. There is scarcely an evil known in these countries which may not be traced to their king as it’s source, nor a good which is not derived from the small fibres of republicanism existing among them.
America is the constitution and we all know who has been disrespecting due process, search and siezure, free speech, seperation of powers, taxtion without respresentation, ironically even their favorite fucking amendment - the right to bears arms. Save america ralies from those who would abandon their heritage, their history, their country.
They're trying to manufacture consent for a crackdown/declaration of martial law.
That just makes me go harder.

I've been peaceful protesting and voting for a quarter century and this is where we are, feels like this shit doesn't work.
These days I legally conceal and carry nearly everywhere, so I probably won't be attending. Putting myself unarmed in that environment doesn't seem like a great idea. I do not want to be the guy who shoots an innocent person.
Dear "we have to wave American flags and (in some cases) exclude all other flags so they can't label us as unamerican" people: this is the reward that strategy yields. The Making Shit Up Brigade is going to continue making shit up no matter how hard you try to placate their nationalism.
