Already did that last week, you're late USA

[–] sunbeam60@feddit.uk 11 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Ah, the confusing week comes to an end, where all meetings with the US are offset one hour to the rest of the world doing DST.

Also, fuck DST.

[–] Sibbo@sopuli.xyz 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Also, fuck the US stubbornly refusing from adjusting to global conventions.

Dude, we ALL want to stop this nonsense, but politicians lack balls. Some states are like "yea, we'll stop DST if our neighbor does". What kind of spineless nonsense is that?

Indiana and Arizona are the only states with any guts - neither one does DST.

NL too, but last time I checked, their idea is to... (Scrapes memory) Permanently adopt DST together with Germany, locking Amsterdam time to UTC +02:00.

It's worth noting that without timezones, high noon in Amsterdam is about +00:13 from high noon in Greenwich, so if anything, the Dutch time zone should be UTC. Together with Belgium, France, Luxembourg and Spain, who all follow German time but are sometimes even further west. Heck, Madrid lies further west than London.

Little rant over, I'll get off my soapbox now.

Hah, we don't do that silly business here anymore! First year without changing the clocks.

If I could turn back time, I would find a way

Why is Cher with my friends?

[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

They’re talking about you.

[–] FluidBeef@quokk.au 6 points 2 days ago

This already happened.

Who has to remember? All my important devices do it automatically. I jsut have to set the stove, microwave, and car when I remember. The car is the only one that freaks me out twice per year - "Oh shit I'm early/late, oh wait, no, need to set the time" lol. I don't even notice it except I got a little more or less sleep. heh

who has to remember?

Proceeds to explain how they need to remember... 😂😂

My cat, who thinks it's food time now

[–] Mika@piefed.ca 2 points 2 days ago

Those who need to take pills with the exact timing

[–] M137@lemmy.today 1 points 2 days ago

Haven't had a device I needed to manually set for many years. Stoves and microwaves don't generally have clocks here, don't see why they need it. Don't have a car either. My wristwatch stopped the day my dad died so I just removed the battery and it'll forever be like that.

I don't set the cooker or microwave, not least of which I don't know how or care.

The van, that I always have to think for a minute and remember how

Unfortunately my clock is a VHS player, and I could not find a way.

I live in Hawai’i. We ain’t turning back shit.

[–] Onomatopoeia@lemmy.cafe 2 points 2 days ago

Hawai'i doesn't do DST? Awesome. I thought it was just Indiana and Arizona. I'll ass Hawai'i to my mental list.
