Why are only the most incompetent people trying to kill Trump?

[–] lockemup@sopuli.xyz 1 points 1 hour ago

If these stories aren’t successful, I don’t really want to hear em…

[–] RichardDegenne@lemmy.zip 16 points 10 hours ago

That's called a conscience.

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 6 points 9 hours ago

Wish they would quit protecting pedophiles

Apparently in the US the voices are more likely to tell you to do violent things. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/263513488_Differences_in_voice-hearing_experiences_of_people_with_psychosis_in_the_USA_India_and_Ghana_Interview-based_study

I wonder though about the step from hearing to acting. Like real people tell me to do stuff and I don't do it. It shouldn't be that hard to hear voices and be like "oh you silly, I'm not gonna do that".

[–] bedwyr@piefed.ca 2 points 2 hours ago

I once read that the majority of people, I presume in the US, that hear voices, hear an upper crust english accented voice.

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 1 points 1 hour ago

Voce of G-d microwave weapon, developed in the 80s.

I wonder though about the step from hearing to acting.

I once auditory hallucinated a single syllable as I was waking up, like someone speaking loudly, almost shouting from right in my face. That was disconcerting enough. There's a visceral element to it that's not just a conversation with an uninvited guest.

Despite the hallucinations themselves by no means implying insanity, it's easy to imagine them wearing you down psychologically if they're a regular occurrence. Anecdotes about them range all the way from harmless to anxiety inducing sensory overload.

[–] watson387@sopuli.xyz 2 points 3 hours ago

Ive had that happen before. It's extremely unsettling for a short while, but I just assumed it was a dream bleeding through as I was waking up.

[–] ikidd@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 16 hours ago

Too bad they didn't give him a good plan too.

It was God. I don't believe in God but I truly believe God sent that man to be his messenger on earth.

Those that do claim to believe in the Lord, surely cannot refuse this as to do so would be denying faith. How is this any different to Moses, Noah and others who have heard the word of God and acted. Who are we to stop this man in his holy quest least we be smited by the Almighty ourselves!

[–] swagmoney@lemmy.ca 13 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

sorry i didn't know he heard me

[–] bedwyr@piefed.ca 1 points 2 hours ago

I've been screaming it from the rooftops, and I'm not sorry.

Maybe he was suppose to appear BEFORE the elections, but missed a train or something. Assassination attempts boost political support

[–] Rocketpoweredgorilla@lemmy.ca 4 points 15 hours ago

He was late because he thought it was supposed to be at Four Seasons Landscaping.

[–] Ariselas@piefed.ca 35 points 1 day ago

He was on a bender with his friends Kash and Pete

[–] YourBestFriend@quokk.au 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

This is why you don’t rely on public transport in amerikkka. They should have used an Uber. 🤪

[–] WindyRebel@lemmy.world 7 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

Surge pricing. Couldn’t afford it.

[–] YourBestFriend@quokk.au 5 points 21 hours ago

I couldn’t afford to revolt.

Why would you attempt this in a stolen vehicle? Has bro never heard of "don't break the law while breaking the law"?

[–] bedwyr@piefed.ca 3 points 2 hours ago

Using a stolen vehicle is the only way to get away with many crimes. To be sure this guy probably didn't cover his other tracks though, harder and harder to do.

Not that I trust the police's version of events here I don't. There are a lot of crazies out there though idk.

I always hear this as "never break more than one law at a time"

Were those voices “literally everyone”?

Give him a Xanax and sent him home

[–] bedwyr@piefed.ca 2 points 2 hours ago

Give him a rifle and ask if he feels lucky.

That ought to justify the 10x increased military presence in DC

[–] Jimbabwe@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I don’t understand these people who are like:

Officer: “How’s it going?”

Guy: “I’m here to do crimes! Wanna see my guns??”

It has happened a few times. Maybe he’s looking for a free flight back to Venezuela..

[–] Hegar@fedia.io 13 points 23 hours ago

voices told him to kill

I feel like i can understand why someone who's hearing voices might not behave 100% rationally.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 15 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Also this is what this administration's DHS is saying after this administration's Secret Service arrested him, so... 🤷

Oh, and they also take pains to say he is an "illegal alien" that entered the U.S. in March of 2024. So you know what THAT means. Biden had OPEN BOARDERS!!!!1111

Honestly, probably just a case where someone needs access to mental health care and I'd like to believe that the DHS is telling the whole truth here. But everything about this administration and the conservatives are so terrible and so suspect.

[–] bedwyr@piefed.ca 2 points 2 hours ago

You know it, thanks for saying it.
