Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

I'm not advocating for someone to assassinate him, but many people think someone should.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 month ago

Will no one rid us of this turbulent president?

[–] not_that_guy05@lemmy.world 47 points 1 month ago

Many = Putin and maga

[–] simplejack@lemmy.world 22 points 1 month ago

All 3 in red white and blue suit. These clowns look like they’re used car salesmen promoting a 4th of July sale.

Broom companies could use one to test their broom handle penetration depth and splinter capacity.

[–] Archangel1313@lemmy.ca 16 points 1 month ago

Something, something...Oath of office...mutter, mutter...uphold and protect the Constitution...blah, blah, blah.

[–] kingofras@lemmy.world 14 points 1 month ago (1 children)

A lot of people also think you’re trying to distract us from the Epstein files

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I feel like the Epstein files are the distraction from Krasnov deploying the united states military against the civilian population that supports it

[–] kingofras@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

Nope. You can always tell. The thing that makes him lash out the most is the thing he’s trying to deflect from. He knows what’s in the files will end him. Even him. Imagine how fcking bad it must be.

[–] AlexLost@lemmy.world 13 points 1 month ago

A dictator wouldn't be too scared to release the Epstein files. Only a little chicken shit scaredy cat president would hide such documenta that so easily exonerate him. Nobody wants a dictator except the people who want to do the dictating. He so hates being wrong he's made it illegal to point it out to him how wrong he is. Such strength!

Big burly men, with tears in their eyes, clamoring for a dictatorship

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

Taco Camacho really does seem to have a type.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

Not unless cincinnatus is interested in rising from the grave, restoring the American republic, then fucking off to to farm

[–] Dragomus@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Not a dictator but a king and despot.

Dictators hold no longer legacy beyond their own person, but a king, now those have an unshakable family line to claim the throne...

[–] al_Kaholic@lemmynsfw.com 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

And what do you do with kings?

[–] vaultdweller013@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

According to my Cromwell supporting ancestors you kill them.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

Sorry friend, I'm too French to follow Krom

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 month ago

Dictators often appoint family members as their successors. You don't have to be a king for that.

[–] Venus_Ziegenfalle@feddit.org 5 points 1 month ago

The second part is true - not that that's a good thing.

[–] SabinStargem@lemmy.today 3 points 1 month ago

"The many", being a body horror abomination made up of wealthy people. "Mac, get the flame thrower!"

[–] rhvg@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Good photo. USA in full display.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I wonder how often "JD" "Vance" wishes Taco would kick the bucket...

[–] Widdershins@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

How sexy are the oval office couches?

[–] xc2215x@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

He can claim what he likes but many Americans see him as one.

[–] fittedsyllabi@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Nope, fuck you, Donald.

[–] klobuerschtler@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

They can't use one, they have one.

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

I’m sure this is yet another example of him “no, we’re not going to do that” and then actually doing that.

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

The techbros that are funding him and Vance are working towards a dictatorship. Project 2025 is also working towards this goal. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curtis_Yarvin

[–] D_C@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 month ago
