such a failed 'business' man that he bankrupted many casinos with ties to Russia

People misunderstand what this was really about, and why he kept doing it. Those casinos allowed him to launder billions of dollars of Russian Mob money, and exploit the casinos into insolvency, and then just walk away, and stick everyone else with the bills.

It's not so much that he's a bad businessman (although he is), he's a CRIMINAL businessman, otherwise known as a Mobster.

Of course. Expect a lot of pro-Russia talk and policy in the near future. Also, Putin gave him orders to complain when he bombs Ukrainian hospitals and orphanages, but do nothing about it, so people won't think he's holding Trump's leash. Because we're all stupid, and can't see what's right in front of our faces.

"But I want a monopoly! I demand a monopoly! I'm not rich enough. I'm afraid I will run out of money and starve!" - The Goblin

It seems like the best solution would be to confiscate Starlink and nationalize it. Same with Space X. We paid for all of it, it should be ours. He can still work there, but he'll collect a government salary, and expect to answer to a boss. Or get fired. Either way, I don't care.

He can keep Tesla, that will be bankrupt in 2 years anyway.

Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory is their brand.

This is clear evidence that if the opposition party fights, they can win. I'm heartbroken that it's taken this much suffering of people with little political defense to show an example but we've made it.

Amen! We have been BEGGING Dems to fight for us for years, but they have treated their cowardice like a virtue, and acted smug about it. They allowed the MAGA Nazis to grow and steal power, and are still doing nearly nothing about it.

The TX Dems are only a dim light in the smoke, but we have to follow it, and make it brighter.

I've always thought the idea that we could stop wasting money on interdiction, and start making money on taxing it, and creating a new multi-billion dollar industry to help drive the economy. What more could they want?

But it turns out that there is actually something politicians like more than money - Control. Keeping weed illegal, and part of the War On Drugs, and making it as dangerous as Heroin, allows them to go after lots of young people, especially minorities.

Lock them up, put a felony on their record, and they can no longer vote against you, and their employment options are limited, so you always have low-wage slaves to hire or fire at will. Do that day in, day out, across the country for decades, and you have successfully restricted the ability of a demographic group to get results at the ballot box.

The ability to restrict minority votes takes precedence over creating a new economic powerhouse.

It was a clumsy MAGA smear job, and would have failed spectacularly if Schmuck Schumer had allowed Al to have the ethics committee hearing that he demanded, and had a right to. But Schmuck didn't want a Progressive running against his Senate mate Gillibrand, so he gave that ludicrous smear job credibility by jumping on it. And since we were in the middle of the Me, Too Witch Hunt, none of his cowardly Senate colleagues would defend him. In fact many piled on.

Later, every one of them regretted their actions, and wished they hadn't done it. If Al Franken could get some support from the media in a rehabilitation campaign, he could definitely make a comeback in politics, and we need brave, intelligent warriors like him.

Oh, and let's get rid of that loser Schmuck Schumer. He sucks, and he has sucked for a long time. A big part of the reason that MAGA was able to take over was because of the weak, spinelessness of Schmuck's "leadership," who let them grow, steal SCOTUS seats, steal elections, made lame excuses for their wins and our losses, etc. He's a loser, and always has been a loser, who is interested in nothing more than growing his personal bank account through insider trading. How did a boob like him accumulate an $80 million fortune on a $175k salary? He is as corrupt as any MAGA, and working with the Sociopathic Oligarchs to offer only basic resistance to MAGA. His ONLY defense to anything is a stern statement, and when he really wants to turn up the heat, he writes a stern letter. Fucking Putz.

Not a Republican terrorist, he was a MAGA terrorist, there's a difference.

The Republican Party is dead. Its core tenets were smaller government, lower taxes, economic responsibility, individual liberty, family values, etc.. The MAGA Party espouses none of that. MAGAs openly support treason, racism, corruption, pedophilia, rape, hate, authoritarianism, Fascism, misogyny, ignorance, and much more, but none of it represents the foundation of Republicanism.

Therefore, the Republican party must be declared to be as dead as the Whigs, only to be referred to in an historical context.

That way, when this is over, and we are dealing with the aftermath of their treason, we can declare the MAGA Party to be an official Terrorist/ Hate group, and prohibit them from existing.

Awesome. That's right, MAGA Morons, go after reefer, and wake up the sleeping giant of young people.

We should make this a major deal, and have Dem candidates declare that they will support full legalization. It will attract FAR more votes than it loses, and MANY of this votes will be first timers.

Zelensky was the star of a sitcom about a public school teacher who becomes president, and cleans up government corruption.

Ukraine was incredibly corrupt, filled with Russian stooges who were looting the country blind, and the people wanted Zelensky's character as president. That character was fictional, so Zelensky was the next best thing, and it turns out that he took his job as seriously as his TV character.

That's exactly right. George Washington really REALLY didn't want the job. He was very money oriented, and the fact that he had been away from his farm during the entire war, and couldn't be there to manage it was extremely frustrating for him. All he wanted was to be a gentlemen farmer, and all these responsibilities came his way.

So when he was offered the role of national leader, he declined. They even offered to make him king, which he definitely didn't like. Eventually, he was persuaded that as a new country, with powerful enemies, America needed someone very strong to keep it on its feet for the first few years, until it could start walking. After going through all that trouble to give birth to America, Washington decided he better watch over his new baby in the crib.

After serving two terms, he shocked everyone by deliberately emulating the example of Cincinnatus, the successful Roman general who could have ruled Rome, but chose to return from the battlefield, and head straight to his family farm instead.

Later, Washington again had to be persuaded to oversee the Constitutional Congress. All he wanted to do was stay on his farm.

Refusing to campaign for president until the "people have demanded it," has become a tradition, although it is always cringingly transparent. So I'm like you - I don't trust anyone who WANTS to be president. That should be the first sign that they are not the right candidate.
