It is "the architects of ai", which is a bunch of tech CEOs, so even worse.

I think your URL to the github is a hyperlink back to this post...

I love the description.

Hey everyone, so you just finished setting up the *Arr stack and your dashboards lookin crisp. But you look at your htop and see... unused RAM. It’s disgusting, isn't it?

Yes exactly. And I actually believe that artificial intelligence could be a real thing that we might one day describe as a person that makes real art. But everything I see tells me that LLMs are not a path towards that.

It's not the AI that people are calling slop... it's the slop. People-made slop existed before AI and it was still slop.

If this wasn't literally /c/fuckai I would think they were trying to distract from what YouTube is doing...

Thankfully most of the top games of 2025 run great on a 4060.

Yeah, this take isn't really exclusive to AI either, luxury products have always involved the best artists and artisans. Generative AI is just exposing the soullessness that has always existed but was masked by underpaid human artists.

Falls suggests that people don’t seem to believe librarians when they explain that a given record doesn’t exist

This happened to me at my job, someone called in asking about something that didn't exist and never did, and insisted with me that I was mistaken when I said we didn't have it. When I asked where they got their information they said "ChatGPT" and when I suggested GPT was hallucinating they didn't seem to understand the term.

Having that exchange IRL with a real human bring honestly kind of shook me up.

Ed frequently comes off like a guy ranting outside the gas station but goddamn is it hard to find an issue with with his conclusions.

This is what's funny to me, "AI" investors must know on some level these products don't actually work the way the companies claim, because if they did they would crash, not help, the economy as it exists now.
