Fair point. Communication is hard, and scientific writing is for a specific group not a general audience.

PhD here.

Be interested in whatever you want. Someone else said speculative fiction. I'm not aware of a scientist who didn't grow up reading that. Just be curious and care about if you're correct.

Young people now just don't have easy access to popular science from people who are telling them the truth, and I don't know what to do about that. You need to learn how the basics of reality work before you can gain the proper level of skepticism.

Tell your granny she needs to pick up her teeth.

My beans need a break and I'm really not sure if these things can go in the dishwasher.

Yes! Kinda (ground like flour).

I can't speak for all the variations, of which I'm sure there are many, but I love mochi.

It's for a really nice chewy, gelantinous texture.

My favorite is a version called Hawaiian butter mochi.

So there's this concept "agent provocateur".

It means the guy from the opposite side who throws the first stone as if he were on side he disagrees with.

The one who throws the first stone is the villain.

The reason why 60's era civil rights demonstrations were so successful is that no white person was able (or probably willing) to infiltrate the African American side to throw the first stone.

In a modern protest, plenty of people without any identifying group support any side, so someone just has to turn around throw a bottle onto their own side to start the violence.
