I've raised dozen of strays I picked-up from the streets over my lifetime. None but one was food motivated enough to steal our food, and the orange one that did isn't so stubborn as to push his luck, a simple hush was enough to deter him.
Though I'm South-East Asian, most of our food is plant-based and the occasional meat we have is drenched in seasoning I don't think they recognize it as food lol.

And to be honest there's virtually no one actually speak formal Indonesian in daily life beside media/government stuff. Excluding the capital most city will speak their regional language especially older folks.

Configurability? I mean Truenas Scale is also based on Debian, but it's an appliance software, if you want NAS it's purpose made for that. You need to configure Debian yourself if you want functioning NAS.
I still remember when TN doesn't have native Tailscale apps/docker yet and everytime there's a Truenas update I need to reinstall and set up Tailscale from scratch.
If you just need a NAS with basic apps/docker, there is no reason to just use Truenas.
I use both, but run a Technitium DNS and Frigate on bare Debian.
