i'd personally liken it more to one of those flat pack jeeps. with a little technical know-how you can get something decently barebones going, of course with ample opportunity for fun!!

kit cars do vary, and there are some that would fit this pretty well, but i'd say much of them are like linux from scratch if anything.

you get a list of parts and stuff, and some instructions on putting it together, but at the end of the day (realistically past that and into the early morning in my experience with LFS :3) the builder is much relied on for the actual customization and patching of everything together!

and they are each all awesome in their own right :)

saw the post here with the "free ddr5 ram" van, and thought i should share this, beware i did take this from ich_iel

the header translates to "some things never change", and DDR is an acronym for Deutsche Demokratische Republik in german, or in english German Democratic Republic, the official name of east germany

it essentially reads as "east germany" and "east germany 5"

pretty much this is a meme/pun about how the current memory shortages are somewhat like the shortages that were present in east germany (162.90 euro is about 193 US dollars, for one stick of sixteen gigabyte DDR5 computer memory)

i have not seen anything top this so far (in the context of the memory shortage), but i invite you to disprove me!! :)

i find this a surprisingly elegant solution!!!

it's nice and simple to put in place, and if you have this class of audio equipment at your whim, you probably have something to scavenge the copper from

copper does oxidize, but so long as it can trade broker enough electrons around, i'm definitely making use of this idea in the future, thank you for the post
