In a lawsuit filed Tuesday, the D.N.C. sought to compel the government to say whether it plans to deploy armed federal officers in this year’s elections.

The Trump administration sent negotiators without nuclear expertise to lead talks on Iran’s enrichment program. Now, its public case for war centers on a facility that experts say cannot do what officials claim.

Ignoring the actual reasons, what the war is actually doing:

While officials look for ways to ease oil shocks, experts say higher prices will likely persist until traffic through the Strait of Hormuz returns.

The agency is proposing allowing other tastes for vapes, like mint, coffees, spices or tea, to appeal to adults. At the same time, illicit candy-flavored types aimed at teenagers have flooded the market.

The real purpose of MAHA: addicting another generation to nicotine.

The only "crime" is not having a home. So its "treating" it by sending people to a prison without due process

A huge chunk of the US population is either:

  • too young to vote
  • not a citizen There's a reason I choose to compare with voting eligible population

You make it sound like a new phenomenon; only 58% of the voting-eligible population turned out in 1980. 63% voted in 2024

They had a majority during the 1st two years of the Biden administration, which got us the Inflation Reduction Act, which was basically industrial policy to create jobs around ending our need for fossil fuels. The Republicans almost entirely repealed that law earlier this year.

The Obama era got us as much as it did because the Democrats had a 60-vote supermajority in the Senate for a few weeks.

Key issues:

  • Newsom is in bed with fossil fuel industry lobbyists. He'll take environmental action only so long as it does not fundamentally put their business at risk, and we need to actually shut it down
  • hes perfectly happy to throw trans people under the bus (as on his podcast with the late Kirk)

These mean I will prefer another candidate in the primaries

Still deciding. Several plausible candidates have yet to announce

[–] silence7@slrpnk.net 13 points 8 months ago (3 children)

He is definitely willing to toss trans people under the bus. Ill be actively working for another candidate in the primary as a result

The problem is that those patchworks mean that it becomes very hard to sell a single product to everybody, since you need to comply with a huge number of local rules. That's really bad for both business and for consumers — it means that you have fewer options available to you as a consumer, at a higher price, and end up living a not-as-good life.

Being an active SS officer should mean spending the rest of your life in prison
