Corey Lewandowski, the top aide of outgoing Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, sought payments from companies seeking contracts with the Department of Homeland Security, according to a report.

Lewandowski, who is also expected to leave DHS this month after Donald Trump fired Noem, had multiple tense meetings with George Zoley, the founder of the private prison company GEO Group, sources told NBC News.

GEO Group stood to benefit from Trump’s hardline deportation agenda, but saw its government contracts shrink after Zoley and Lewandowski disagreed about the latter receiving payments in exchange for growing GEO’s contracts, which already totaled over $1 billion per year.

Hi everyone! 👋

I’m looking for contributors to help grow this project—if you’re interested in collaborating, reviewing code, or adding features, feel free to jump in!

I built NAS Monitor because the native Ugreen UI isn't the most efficient when you just want a quick, real-time overview of your system.

Full disclosure: I built this entirely with the help of AI! It’s been a fascinating experiment, but now I'd love to get some real human developers on board to help refine it.

What it does: It’s a simple, self-hosted dashboard that runs via Docker. It gives you a clean look at your: CPU & RAM usage Disk health Network traffic (without all the extra clicks!)

🛠 Bonus for Devs (API Docs): Since Ugreen doesn't have an official API, I managed to reverse-engineer their internal one (with AI assistance) and included the complete API documentation in the repository. If you're looking to build your own tools for Ugreen NASync devices, this should save you a lot of time!

Like, every AI generated thing I’ve seen, when viewed from the eyes of someone who actually knows what they’re doing, is at best below average. Maybe some things aren’t quite as bad as the general “AI slop”, but of the things I’m actually experienced in (code and art), I just see so many amateur mistakes in everything AI.

Regarding art, AI can make really visually appealing things, but it gets the details wrong. That’s something that a below average artist does. And regarding code, it’s the same thing. Overall, it has the appearance of decent code, but it gets the details wrong, just like a below average dev. (Probably about the level of a high school senior or college freshman.)

I’m not super experienced at writing, but I can also tell that it’s not very good at that. The stories it writes just aren’t compelling, but I’m not experienced enough to tell you why. And the same with music. It’s just below average, but I couldn’t tell you why.

I’m not trying to sound elitist by saying this, but I’ve noticed people who aren’t very good at these things tend to praise how good the AI is.

So, is it just me, or are the big fans of AI just below average at whatever the AI is doing?
