We talk less and less about how we're actually feeling, everyone just says "I'm fine" even when they're not. So I built a tool to make social energy levels visible between friends without needing the conversation.

Tech highlights:

  • No email signup (just username + password)
  • Instant friend pairing via shareable links
  • Real-time status sync
  • Mobile-first PWA design
  • Quick action buttons (e.g., "ask for coffee")

How it works:
You share your link → they open it and register → you're automatically friends and can see each other's battery levels in real time.

Live at socialbattery.space (works best on mobile, but desktop works too)
Built this because emotional state sharing shouldn't require a vulnerable conversation every time. Would love feedback from the community.

California is investigating one of the Trump administration's deals to end an offshore wind project. Golden State Wind was a floating offshore wind project proposed off California’s central coast. The California Energy Commission said Monday it issued an administrative subpoena to Golden State Wind. The commission said it is seeking documents and information about the company's recent agreement with the Department of Interior to accept a payout in exchange for voluntarily abandoning its offshore wind lease. “The Trump administration is recklessly spending billions of taxpayer dollars on backroom deals that would turn back the clock on innovation,” CEC Chair David Hochschild said in a statement. “Californians deserve immediate answers about the nature of this payout. Taxpayer dollars should be used to build a sustainable energy future, not to pay to make projects disappear.” The Trump administration is spending nearly $2 billion to get energy companies to walk away from U.S. offshore wind projects. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum said companies were sold a product that was only viable when propped up by massive taxpayer subsidies when they bid for these offshore wind leases in 2022, under former President Joe Biden. The Republican administration adopted this strategy after federal courts thwarted President Donald Trump’s efforts to stop offshore wind development through executive action. Three agreements have been announced.

Technitium DNS Server v15.1.0 has been released with support for OIDC! Now you can use your preferred identity provider to log in to user accounts, and manage your DHCP/DNS deployments with approriately granular permissions controls.

I've played around with it, and safe to say that the SSO integration works well. I've written a guide to set it up against Kanidm here. There were some OIDC/clustering bugs in prior v15 releases, and with v15.1.0 they have been squashed and solved.

The major release of version 15 also include various important changes, such as the following highlights:

  • A new API call for Prometheus metrics
  • Query Logs apps can now follow live updates
  • Codebase updated to .NET 10 runtime
  • HTTP tokens are now accepted via the Authorization: Bearer <token> header
  • Many other bugfixes, secfixes, and improvements...

Technitium is pretty great. Hope everyone enjoy the release :)
