Maybe the world isn't full of absolutes?

Maybe there would have been a 10% lower probability of war with Harris, and 80% higher probability of better protection of human rights?

If you are only capable of treating every magnitude of behavior equally, you'll repeatedly end up with poor outcomes. You need a weighting mechanism that isn't binary.

Moreover, you have to choose those that are most likely to align with your desired outcome, even if they don't qualify based on your purity test. Otherwise, you're just part of the, "I've got a number of strong opinions, but I'm going to do jack dick to move in that direction because that candidate isn't perfect" crowd.
