Never disassemble a microwave unless you know exactly what you're doing. Like a CRT monitor, the capacitors are big enough to kill you.
Many microwaves have some sort of button combo that'll mute it.
Yeah I should have mentioned that. Definitely watch YouTube videos and be super careful to follow safety precautions.
Even unplugged capacitors can hurt you pretty bad and possibly kill you.
It's easy to not injure yourself as long as you know about this and how to avoid it. But don't go in blind.
