The issue is that when somebody new come along with fresh ideas, the Democrats make sure to squeeze them out and ostracize them from the party.

Take Andrew Yang for example. He ran for president in 2020. He's fairly young, he's not a career politician, he's from an underrepresented minority, he's a relatively quite family man, and he's fairly charismatic. He had THE most pragmatic, most forward thinking, and data backed platform of any presidential candidate this century. He was and still is the one and only candidate who talked about the consequences of automation and AI, UBI, better metrics for the economy, ranked choice voting, and so on while also being progressive on social issues. He also ran his campaign in a patriotic and inclusive way so that it was more America focused rather than party focused, and he made a bunch of disenfranchised Republicans switch parties just to vote for him. Do you know how exceedingly rare it is for any candidate to have this kind appeal?

You would think that the Democrats would rally hard behind a guy like this, but nope. They called him a snake oil salesman for the crime of running against Bernie in 2020 and then they falsely called him a Republican for occasionally giving the DNC constructive criticism, and they successfully chased him out of the party. In the end, instead of getting the guy who's fit for the times, we got Joe Biden. While I understand the point of the meme, it's still frustrating just how shitty the DNC is.
