Everybody knocks him for being a bad businessman for bankrupting all those casinos, but that wasn't poor business, it was a successful business model. He'd buy a casino, loot it for every bit of profit, run up the bills and stiff the vendors, and when it all collapsed, file for bankruptcy, and walk away. Then buy another casino, and start over.
It was the perfect scam for a money launderer, which his is his primary occupation, until he couldn't get away with it anymore.
So now he's just doing the same thing to the US Government, looting it for every bit of profit he can steal. I saw an estimation that at this level of spending, he will be responsible for 55% of the national debt when he leaves in 2028, and that was BEFORE he started his war, which is going to go on forever.
Stealing everything he can has always been the plan, and when this is over and he's going to prison, or death row, every single penny of his entire fortune should be confiscated. And his demonic nepo-baby offspring, too. They won't need it, they'll all be in prison, too, leaving his grandchildren destitute and in foster care, carrying a name that will be as reviled in history as Hitler.
Casinos are like money printing machines. It's incredibly hard to not make money with a casino. Having one is like owning a never ending gold mine. Even if gutting and dipping was his plan it's still bad business. He stood to make way more money over the long term.
You're missing the point: operating a casino wasn't his business, money laundering was. He didn't want the long-term responsibility of a casino, with its overhead and regulations and taxes and employees and liquor licenses, yadda-yadda. Besides, a casino operates on only about a 1% profit, and requires a massive volume of gamblers to make big money, as well as an intelligent focused operator who can keep a handle on all the expenses, and bring that 1% profit home.
So sure, it's a viable business, but that all sounds like real work to a dummy like him. He just wanted a vehicle to launder massive amounts of Russian mobster cash, and a casino is the perfect cash business to run it through.
Destroying viable businesses for profit has always been a business model. It's how Mitt Romney and others made entire fortunes. Look at Toys R Us. It was a successful profitable business until it was bought and systematically stripped of its profitable assets. Some people make money by operating businesses, and others are simply predators and parasites.
Theres 10x better money laundering schemes lol he's an idiot dude. Don't fall for the propaganda he puts out.
Trump makes is money on his image nothing more. If your going to laundry money there are way better more stable vehicles.
He's just a shitty business man.
Just want to say that even if the basic casino has low profit margin, it gives nice foundation for other revenue streams. Lodging, food, drink, merch, shows, tournaments, conferences, events etc.
Trumps too stupid and lazy for all that. Easy and quick is all he is looking for.
If you haven't heard it the song lootkemia by chuuwee is now a decade old and talks about how many people make boat loads off bankrupting businesses (among other things)
scams, by definition, are not business models…
That's old school business ethics. This is the 21st Century. Anything goes.
