I mean, you could try to talk him out of it when you go get the TV.
Talk him out of it, but take the TV anyway.
Imagine a movie where somebody wants to get a TV from a suicidal person and they become best friends while he comes to pick it up.
Plot twist, the tv is a cursed item that cause the owner to decide to kill themselves. If you can get someone to take it from you before dawn you no longer want to kill yourself. They have 24hrs.
