Is it though? The thing about torrenting afaik is, that you're not downloading only but also uploading. The latter is the illegal part, even if you own a legal copy.
It's been a while since I torrented, but IIRC you can throttle the uploading part.
You can. It would be a dick move, but you can.
I think downloading is also illegal since you're creating an illegal copy on your computer although distribution of copyrighted material is more serious.
Although, you could copy the CD instead legally in many cases.
Downloading isn't illegal.
That might also differ by location.
