I'll never understand how these people got popular.. from what I can tell they just sit in front of a camera and scroll some feed and talk about random stuff without any actual expertise or credible information. How is that entertaining? Why would people choose to watch that over shows that have interviews with actual experts and are much more informative.
Unfortunately I believe it's because theyre all just like him. It's their safe echo chamber where they get to listen to "their guy" belittle and punch down all the people they don't like. He's the "politically incorrect" voice they love to hear and he constantly reinforces their worldview.
They aren't looking for experts, they're looking for fellow tribe mates to reinforce their existing biases.
Because people post about how stupid they are.
That creates an incentive for them to say dumber shit, creating a feedback loop where the ones with the least shame become the most popular.
Most of the people viewing streams by people like that, are "hate watching" but that inflates the views and people not in on the joke thinks it's popular views and believe it.
Like that old Mitchell and Webb sketch, views are views.

The ironic part is they were talking about Trump's show that led to him becoming president.
I suspect it's a quirk of memetics. These personalities survive the selection process, for some reason. Like animals that develop strange mutations to survive in harsh environments.
