Pills aren't there to convince us everything is ok. They're more often useful in getting us to a baseline where we can better manage and take control of our lives where we can. If a psychiatrist/therapist is saying something like in this meme, get a new one. There are more resources out there than just pills and therapy
I say this as someone taking pills, going to therapy, and receiving a ton of other support through government programs in a red state in the US. I'd been struggling with suicidal ideation for decades, and in the last year I've made some good progress. There's shitty aspects to life, and I've got a ways to go to meet the goals I've set for therapy, but it's still worth living for me
