Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
- Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

AOC's age, sexuality, gender, literally any demographic, doesn't matter.
She's charismatic and has popular policy.
That's literally all that matters in a candidate, because it's a popularity contest for people and policy.
That's why Republicans, neoliberals, and billionaire owned media are scared shitless that she runs.
Progressives won't be stopped by the DNC in the next primary, and if a progressive makes it to the general they'll easily win.
We're gonna see some last minute shenanigans like in Maine, oligarchs will risk kneecapping the dem candidate in the general if there's a chance to replace a progressive with a moderate.
Clinton won the popular vote so that shows her being a woman wasn't really that big a thing. She only lost because of the backward shit that is the Electoral College.
As for Harris she didn't lose because she was a woman, she lost because she ran a shit campaign and was a pretty shitty candidate.
That and her milquetoast neoliberalism that stopped enough people from being excited about her to overcome the EC disadvantage.
And she was a Republican flying a blue flag.
Non of that even matters. When the economy is “bad” according to the public. The incumbent always loses the presidential election. AOC can easily win in 2028, so can Kamala, so can Newsom. Years like 2012 were seen as “bad” for the economy to the average person, that’s where the media narrative around that election falls apart. But 92 and 76 both show that bad economies end presidencies.
what is her current stance on israel and its genocide and consumption of US money?

I dunno of a site but she's a very mixed bag on it. It's one of the few things I personally feel she's dropped the ball on. She criticizes the genocide, but she calls the left antisemitic, she voted against the bill to stop subsidizing Israel but claims it was because it would only stop subsidizing their iron dome when we need to stop subsidizing their offensive weapon purchases instead (her words, I say fuck em completely). She has publicly rejected Israeli AIPAC campaign money but that money can be funneled through shell PACs and hard to actually track, I've seen rumors she's gotten some but those rumors always feel oddly timed and inconcrete and more an attempt to sway opinion against her than truth.
I'd vote for her in a heart beat. Unfortunately there is a significant percentage of the US population that will never vote for a woman. Sexism, machismo, and bravado got a lot of non white people to vote for trump
Reminder the only times Trump won was against a woman. Even after both Hilary and Kamala were cool, calm, and collected during the debate there were plenty of people saying, "I'm not voting for either candidate because I hate Trump and [she] is too emotional to be president."
And instead of seeing that what people were responding to about Trump (the system is broken and something has to fucking change, even if they were stupid to believe he would do it in their favor), people decide that actually it's because woman. Sexists exist, therefor a woman can never be elected. Even though half the fucking population is made up of women. The progressive party of America, everyone!

Are people actually saying she couldn’t get elected cause she’s a “progressive woman”? Seems like age an experience would be the obvious reasons people would say she can’t win.
I love AOC, and hope she runs and would root for her every step of the way. But I would be shocked if she won the nomination simply because House of Representatives is her only real achievement. Seems more likely she would run for Senate before running for president.
