It's from before streaming so each season has 23 episodes. Current TV has 10 episodes a season. It's twice as valuable as regular TV!
This is what happens when teachers tell kids they won't have access to calculators for tests when they grow up and those kids just accept they don't know math. Now they're in advertising.
DS9 was so good. No idea why it gets so much hate.
I was going to say the performance of Sisko, but Kirk gets a pass in ToS so I don't know what to tell you...
it was probably too linear, and not too much TNG aspects. it was a tng-esque in the first few seasons before the dominion.
It was way ahead of it's time. Think about trying to be a fan of that show in the 90s. You miss one big episode and suddenly you're completely lost on the story. Streaming/binge watching brought it a lot more fans, myself included.
Does it tho? From my experience, people say it aged very good and was ahead of its time
it is, apparently they spent a ton of money on CGI which was pretty good at the time.
It does? Most "best Star Trek series" lists I've seen has it at #1 or #2 🤷🏻
Can't be #1 because Patrick Stewart isn't in it.

imho it's #1 because of all the characters, if you combine the depth of each it can surpass TNG easily..
to me, the tie is between 2nd and 3rd place: tng vs. voyager
